Restaurant Refuses Service To Soldier For Carrying Firearm

Over the weekend, a soldier with the National Guard was told to leave his gun outside of the Nicholasville Waffle House or he wouldn’t be served. The situation is now getting national attention.

Billy Welch said that he stopped at the Waffle House Sunday morning for breakfast. He was in his Army National Guard uniform and had his gun holstered to his side. After ordering his food, Welch said that a waitress signaled for him to come over.

"I got up and I walked over to them, asked them how they were doing and stuff, and they said I'd have to take my firearm outside,” said Welch.

-snip-

The owner of the Nicholasville Waffle House made this statement, “For many years we have had a “No Firearms” police in place in our restaurants. We continue to believe this is the best policy for the safety of our customers and associates.”

Simple solution. Stop eating there and let them subsist on liberal patronage. Or go bankrupt.

And yet it is private property and an owner, in theory, has a right to exclude people he wants from his property.(Yes, yes I know this right of exclusion has been eroded years ago.) At any rate we have an apparent conflict between two rights; i.e. “Right to Carry,” and private property with its “right to exclude.”

He has a right to exclude people carrying firearms. The public has a right not to eat at his restaurant. Let them both exercise their rights.

And we have the right to spread the story and refuse to patronize that business.

1) "No Guns" means "No Guns". I'm glad they don't make special exceptions for government employees.

2) “For many years we have had a “No Firearms” police in place in our restaurants. We continue to believe this is the best policy for the safety of our customers and associates.” That's completely retarded. With apologies to actual retards, who can't help it. Criminal Safety Zones have proven, over and over, to be extremely BAD policy for the safety of customers and associates.

The moron who owns Nicholasville Waffle House should have a legal and moral right to refuse service for the most inane reasons imaginable. I hope he loses every regular customer he used to have and that the next owner will be more responsible. Restaurants depend on good will.

Yeah, Kentucky. The same bunch of retards that gave us Mitch McConnell. It was reported by a Lexington station. Lexington is the worst, being it's a liberal enclave for that dump. I guess the city is a bedroom community of Lexington?

I especially liked this statement. The owner of the Nicholasville Waffle House made this statement, “For many years we have had a “No Firearms” police in place in our restaurants. We continue to believe this is the best policy for the safety of our customers and associates.”

So, what is it? You have "no firearms" police? As in, grammar police? Spelling police?

Or you don't serve police who carry firearms?

Or, did you let a Freudian slip?
