The head of the House Oversight Committee is accusing Planned Parenthood of misspending more than $40 million of federal dollars on “lavish” travel, theme parties and a costly Manhattan office.
Rep. Jason Chaffetz (R-Utah) on Tuesday accused the organization of racking up “exorbitant travel expenses,” including first-class flights, charter travel and entertainment costs that included $622,706 on “blowout parties” with celebrity guests.
Some of the themed parties had names such as “Gathering of Goddesses and Gods,” “Chocolate Champagne,” and “Murder Mystery,” according to a report released by the committee during the hearing Tuesday.
The findings were the results of a months-long investigation into Planned Parenthood's spending, in which the committee analyzed several years of tax returns.
Chaffetz also questioned the salary of Planned Parenthood President Cecile Richards, who appeared before his panel for the first time on Tuesday.
“That’s money that’s not going to women’s health care,” Chaffetz said.
The Oversight report details Planned Parenthood’s total of $5,109,997 on travel in 2013, which averaged approximately $14,000 a day.
The committee’s report also noted Planned Parenthood’s real estate holdings, including $34.8 million for its corporate office space near Madison Square Garden in New York City in 2011. In 2015, it sold a 72,000 square-foot condominium to Brookfield Property Partners for $69.6 million.

During her opening remarks, Richards urged the House Oversight Committee to denounce what she called the “great deal of misinformation” that has spurred GOP-led attempts to defund the organization.
“The outrageous accusations leveled against Planned Parenthood, based on heavily doctored videos, are offensive and categorically untrue,” Richards said in her strongest statement yet about the videos.

Far be it from me to appear to support Planned Parenthood, but Congress is about the last group to criticize anyone for lavish travel on the taxpayer dime.
Uh, where does this bitch get "heavily doctored videos" from? The entire world has seen the excerpts and many have seen the entire videos from start to finish. There was no editing, special effects, taken out of context, etc. They are straight up videos showing the horrific bartering of baby parts, not to mention the latest about bragging about a living pre-mature baby being the best sale.

The Planned No-Parenthood head, Ms. Richards was a real Nurse Rached, a real cold cookie, smart, well-prepared, unflappable...and she knew all the tricks of the trade. At every opportunity she gave short answers to the abortion-loving Dem interrogators......and long-winded ones to those of the Republicans to use up their 5-minute time limit.
With one or two exceptions, the GOP questioners seemed to have put little thought, preparation or pre-coordinated strategy with each other into their grilling......and their questions were flat, shallow, off-the-mark and unproductive. If their hearts were truly into this hearing, you could have fooled me.
I was disgusted and finally turned the dog-and-pony show off. Many of the Pub committee members were just there because they had to be...but obviously being tagged as "women's-health haters" was in the back of their minds.
I have to hand it to her....the PP woman was worth every C-note of the hundreds of thousands of dollars in salary, travel and expenses she's paid every 365 days by her tax-payer financed mother-lode.

Probably not. A destroyed nation and ruined people through God's judgment on America is the more likely scenario. Our government is willfully and joyfully spitting in His face. That will not end well.
Planned Parenthood being touted by Cecile Richards many times as a ‘non-profit’ organization is as absurd as the Wounded Warriors Project and for the same reasons.
