Russian President Vladimir Putin on Sunday branded U.S. support for rebel forces in Syria as illegal and ineffective, saying U.S.-trained rebels were leaving to join Islamic State with weapons supplied by Washington.
In an interview with U.S. networks recorded ahead of a meeting with U.S. President Barack Obama, Putin said Syrian President Bashar al-Assad deserved international support as he was fighting terrorist organizations.
Obama and Putin are scheduled to talk on Monday after Putin addresses the United Nations, although White House and Kremlin officials have disagreed on what the two leaders will discuss and even who initiated the meeting.
"In my opinion, provision of military support to illegal structures runs counter to the principles of modern international law and the United Nations Charter," he said in an excerpt of an interview with U.S. television networks CBS and PBS released by the Kremlin.

Putin says Damascus should be included in international efforts to fight (IS), a demand the United States rejects, and he criticized U.S. plans to train up to 5,400 Syrian rebels to fight Islamic State.
"It turns out that only 60 of these fighters have been properly trained, and as few as four or five people actually carry weapons," he said. "The rest of them have deserted with the American weapons to join ISIS," he said referring to Islamic State.

Despite the Orwellian propaganda, there is NO proof of direct Russian involvement in the Ukrainian Civil War.
Lots of SUPPORT, but no direct involvement proven. In Syria, not only are we DIRECTLY involved, but we talk about it openly.
In BOTH CASES, people are dying due to the Obama Administration’s destabilizing attempts, in support of some obscure agenda. Remember, the Obama/Soros supported/financed overthrow of the Ukrainian Government was DIRECTLY related to event in Syria.
Obama will sell out his ISIS pals and take credit for enlisting Russia and Iran to help exterminate them.
The problem with Obola’s “red line” in Syria was it was being drawn to protect ISIS; hence, the intense opposition to it here and Obola’s failure to implement it. The result of that horrible policy has been the complete collapse of what was left of our position in the Mideast and Russia moving in to take over. BTW that also means Iranian nukes.

Nope, no proof at all. Other than Putin handing out medals, Russian soldiers captured in Ukraine and the US Army identifying the regular Russian Army fighting inside Ukraine.

Apparently, you were asleep during the battle of Debaltseve when US Army Europe released sat intel and stated unequivocally that based on all available sources that the regular Russian Army was taking part in that battle.

There was a video presented by Russia that purported to “prove” that a Ukrainian jet shot down MH17. The video was later shown to have been created using graphics from a video game called Flaming Cliffs 2. As often happens, Russian propaganda involved a great deal of projection. I recall that the Putin bootlickers quite eagerly advanced this nonsense until it was roundly debunked.
