Putin calls US support for rebel forces in Syria 'illegal' and says it just arms ISIS

...In an interview with American media ahead of Putin's meeting with US president Obama tomorrow, the Russian leader said: "In my opinion, provision of military support to illegal structures runs counter to the principles of modern international law and the United Nations Charter."

US-Russian relations have slumped to a post-Cold War low over the Ukraine crisis, though the two sides share concerns about the threat posed by Islamic State, while disagreeing on the approach.

Putin says Damascus should be included in international efforts to fight ISIS - a demand the America rejects, and he heavily criticised US plans to train up to 5,400 Syrian rebels to fight the terror organisation.

He said: "It turns out that only 60 of these fighters have been properly trained, and as few as four or five people actually carry weapons. "The rest of them have deserted with the American weapons to join ISIS."

The attack on US foreign policy comes as Russia develops its base in Syria by bringing 28 fighter aircraft to the war-torn country.

That puts the Russian's in direct opposition to the US-led coalition, which wants Assad out.

Last week, Putin said removing Assad would create a situation such as that seen in Libya where "all the state institutions deteriorate".

In yesterday's interview he defended his support for the Syrian leader. He said: "We have been providing assistance to legitimate government entities only.

Good for Putin. at least he wants to maintain some semblance of order.

Unlike our *leaders*. Witness Libya and Iraq.

Mr. Putin is showing genuine leadership IMHO.

Putin has a defense pact with the Syrian government What legal justification does the US have for inserting military force into Syria? UN resolution? Has the UN declared the Syrian government to be illegitimate or otherwise to be removed by force?

Has the ICC issued charges against Assad?

I remember Bush and Powell building the case against Saddam for months and months I must have missed what UN resolution applies to the Obama and Kerry threatening to confront Russia militarily or otherwise in Stria

Leave it to a ex commie to point to the obvious truth. Next up some commentary about Libya. Of course he is not going to mention Ukraine.

Putin makes more sense than anything coming out of “America” these days. His goals, words and actions admittedly self-serving, but at least he operates in the realm of unambiguous, time-tested reality.

Meanwhile, America is crippled by PC mindthink, and our military wallows in celebration of faggotry. And here we now find ourselves even “allied” with the evil of ISIS in Syria, and turn a blind eye towards boy-rape on our own bases in Afghanistan. Mind-boggling how far we’ve fallen.

Russia has a defense pact with Syria, and like Assad or not, he is opposed to ISIS (as is Putin), we should be offering logistical support to Putin if he intends to wipe those ISIS bastards out, why would we want to do anything to inhibit that goal?

Oh wait, that filthy sack o’ Kenyan fecal matter in the White Hut is a friend of ISIS and the Muzzie Brotherhood.

Ok, how about logistical support to Putin if he’ll launch air strikes on 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue? After all, we DO want to take out ISIS strongholds, don’t we? ;)

But, $inator John McAinal told us that we needed to kill Assad and posed with Isis serial killers.

Putin has drawn another red line in the sand and kicked sand in the face of Sunni Obama.

When comparing the intelligence of statements made by Putin and Obama I think Putin’s are the more correct. I would/could also add Pope Francis to the Obama side of the equation.

Yes, yup, uh-huh, affirmative comrade.

But that's obvious common sense, which we will thwart at every turn to ensure the legacy of the boy-king here in America.

I think the Boehner, Cantor, McConnell effect is beginning to show itself on the Obama scorecard.

An ISIS report, recovered by Libyan media in January, reveals that the Islamic State would be aiming at Libya “to get to Europe,”

... overrunning it with migrants to “turn it into hell.” According to the report, ISIS considers “illegal immigration” to be a privileged channel of access to the Old Continent.

“I think the Boehner, Cantor, McConnell effect is beginning to show itself on the Obama scorecard.”

Well two of the GOPe you mention are/will be history soon.

Hopefully the third pro rat/Obozo McConnell will retire to spend time with his off shore accounts.

Putie Pute is correct unfortunately but anyone with common sense could have predicted that arming ‘moderate rebels’ was going to be a big fail. OblahMao is an unmitigated disaster and with the ME now on fire proves it.

“Similar to Libya!”

Sadly, yes.

Egypt would have been the first to fall if the brave Egyptians hadn’t taken to the streets of Cairo and removed Obozo’s Sunni Muslim Brotherhood thugs.
