Baltimore County police defended an officer who fatally shot an unarmed suspect in a Reisterstown alley, saying Friday that the officer believed the man was pulling a gun.

I would have shot the guy.
He charged the officer, pretended to reach for a weapon and faked presenting a clear, present danger.

Cop haters will be here in 3 ... 2 ... 1
All I can say after watching that video is apparently that person wanted to get shot real bad.
"It really hurt me; I've got grandkids that age. I don't know what happened," Jackson said. "All I know really is we lost another little angel, younger than 20. He was just trying to find himself."
"The women, we are left with a big burden. We love our men. We love our children. We only want the best for them," she said. "I'm not just saying this for my angel Keith, I'm saying this for all my angels. I got a lot of angels." Her angel dindu nuffins.
The Baltimore Sun released article after article to defend scuzzbag Freddie Gray.
suspect was very hostile. He keeps approaching and the police keep backing up even though gun was pointed towards him
Idiotic and or suicidal. Got what he deserved, maybe what he was looking for.
I am not a gun or cop hater but do think that things in both realms are a bit out of control.
That being said, this is totally deserved and the cop was correct in his actions.
Good shoot.
Chris Rock’s video, “How To Not Get Your Ass Kicked By The Police” should be mandatory viewing, monthly, in the hood, for all youts between 13 and 20.
Toxicology tests on the dear departed would be highly advised. Nobody “in their right mind” charges down a LEO with a drawn semi-automatic. He was high on something. IMHO.
He did an admirable imitation of Mikie Brown’s final 30 seconds of life last August. With very similar outcome, I hasten to add.
I would have shot him.
Add to that what the suspect who was shot was alleged to be saying, "I'm going to kill you, I'm going to kill you" as he continued to advance on the policeman, as the policeman was backing away with his weapon drawn and at the ready, apparently giving the guy every chance he could to stop (but the would-be assailant would not stop, kept advancing towards the policeman, swinging his arm from out behind his back when he got close) and most anyone would be (or at least should be) fully justified in shooting the would-be assailant.
That the officer stops firing after he shot the man a few times, and I assume at that point determined there was no longer imminent danger to his own person, and/or life, is yet more points in favor of officer's actions. He could kept shooting, but didn't need, and the subject died anyway.
3, or 4 shots to the chest at close range has been known to effect that eventual result.
I could be wrong, but I don't think that the police are, or even should be restrained from firing on an advancing subject who clearly appears to cause an officer harm, even if the person making moves towards a police officer is entirely unarmed, and both hands are visible, and can be seen to not be holding a weapon in either hand.
Police don't have to take a beating from anyone.
You and I don't either, or at least shouldn't have to.
Vendome, I had to start it over and watch it twice, I couldn’t believe he was so stupid!!!
Other than this shooting (of a DC resident in Reisterstown, Md), I detect a lot of Amish names among the criminals and victims including such old World names as Vatrone, Tayvon, Tevin and Rayshawn.
Them Amish boys sure do get around.
When I was growing up in Baltimore (and I knew most of the neighborhoods where the shootings/killings took place in these reports), the Amish behaved themselves.
Apparently they have moved out a bit and brought crime to areas that once had no crime. The only problems I ever had were from a bunch of White Crackers/Trash from Hampton/Hamilton who were anti-Semitic and just garbage.
(A couple of them almost met their makers when they picked on me and a friend (about 6’5” - basketball player) who would have dropped them in a second. They took a second look at us and decided to call us a few choice anti-Semitic names (Wally wasn’t Jewish, but a friend to his Jewish buddies) and left).
That was it until the Amish began to move out of the inner city to destroy once pleasant, safe, and well maintained neighbors.
And that is how it is today. If you don’t believe me, just read all the articles attached to this FR article.
Baltimore, now a third rate city in a rapidly becoming second rate nation.
Okay I’ll bite.
The video exonerated the policeman, for the most part.
What I have a problem with is if this video did not show the policeman was faultless it would not have been released for years.
Jaded I guess.
Absolutely a good shoot; if someone keeps moving forward like that it is a no brainer. Moreover, given this is Baltimore and other ferals are likely to jump in— you don’t know who is behind you, or outside your field of view, you need to eliminate each potential threat quickly. I think the officer took too long if anything; backing up like that is risky, you could trip or otherwise become unbalanced, giving threat a chance to get close.
Try 7 to 20; in many of these neighborhoods kids start working as spotters or mules by then, and getting jumped in to gangs soon after.
What the heck is with these amish youths??
They want martyr status?
With all the police shootings(most justified) you’d think taunting an officer would be the last thing they would do if they wanted to see the next sunrise. Esp when he has his gun pointed at you.
Unsmart.
