Fiorina: Hillary was victim of sexism (2008)
Politico ^ | 6/2/2008 | Jonathan Martin

In an interview with Matt Cooper, former Hewlett Packard CEO/RNC Victory Chair/top McCain economic surrogate Carly Fiorina offers some straight talk about Hillary:

When I ask her what she thinks of Hillary Clinton's presidential campaign—and whether the Democratic New York senator faced sexism on the campaign trail—her response is clear. "Yes. I think women in positions of power are treated differently, and the treatment of her demonstrates that," she replies.

We’ve been thinking a GOPe plant when more and more reveals a close tie to the Clintons. Really emphasizes the uni party controlled by Bush-Clinton

There's no difference between Carly being pro-Hillary then as she is now.

Carly Fiorina Says She Feels 'Empathy' for Hillary Clinton – and Vows She'll 'Never Make a Personal Comment' About Her. Carly Fiorina has said that women "are not a special interest group," but that doesn't mean she doesn't feel a certain kinship with her fellow females – even her Democratic rival Hillary Clinton. "I feel empathy with every woman who is working really hard and giving it all they've got – and Hillary is," the GOP presidential hopeful tells PEOPLE in this week's issue. "She's smart, she's hardworking, she's giving it all she's got." Clinton, 67, and Fiorina, 61, first...

Looks to me that Carly is more interested in making excuses for herself and other womyn rather than achieving anything.

That doesn’t even qualify her for President of the Girl Scouts, much less POTUS.

Fiorina must believe she will get hillary’s followers’ vote when hillary is gone.

I have a suggestion, maybe she should just switch and run as VP with Clinton, that is if Clinton gets the nomination, otherwise, both of them should just fade away into the sunset.

When I heard she was going to go after Trump I thought maybe she had received a call from Karl Rove with an offer of “support.”

Ms. Fiorina, it is time for you to move back to the kiddy table debate.

Anyone in a position of power, or aspiring to a position of power, is subject to scrutiny and criticism (at least Republicans/Conservatives are).

If you can’t stand the heat, get out of the kitchen.

Besides, Hillary! is a classic example of the type of person who can dish it out but can’t take it.

She and Rove go back decades. She’s a party climber as well as a corporate climber. The only party climber I’ve known (two of them) would sleep with anyone who could promote their own position. Always suspicious of women moving up in party politics after knowing them. They both reached a level of incompetence after ruining their and at least one targets marriage.
Always thought a book about politics and prostitution was in order from the women who gained power.

The notion that a woman can do no wrong and any failure must be due to other's sexism, is a dangerous and fruitless position indeed.
Replace woman->black and sexism->racism and it's the same mindset.

I love how the process of elimination works. Eventually the weaker links will reveal themselves and move them out of my voting focus.

Yeah well she is another one of those candidates who have conveniently EVOLVED since then.

Pay no attention to what is behind me only consider where I am now, whats the past have to with anything it really is no reflection of who I am; because I am now whatever, whoever it is you want me to be.

Of course keep in mind it is all subject to change once I am elected, as I said I am evolving ever so rapidly.

FioRINO is a Designated Loser.

She would have been been McCain’s VP pick but she couldn’t pass vetting because of the HP debacle in 2008

Then she loses to Boxer in 2010 for the same reasons McCain didn’t pick her as VP.

And now you want her as your Designated Loser in 2016?

No. And I don't want Trump either. Trump's comments in 2008 are as pertinent as hers.

Yes, maybe a few but not enough to make a difference.

Carly said “When you criminalize drug abuse, you’re actually not treating it. We had a daughter who died of addictions, so this lands very close to home for me.”

Rehab can certainly help some people, but her step-daughter Lori was in rehab three times. Her father was quite wealthy and could afford it, and yet it appears rehab did not save her.

What really disturbed me about Carly in the debate was her trying to grab sympathy for having “buried a child to drug addiction.”

This is a gross deception. The “child” was Lori Fiorino, her step-daughter. The girl lived full-time with her mother after her parents divorce when she was ten. I’m sure Carly did forge a relationship with her step-daughter, but she did NOT raise the girl.

Second, the step-daughter died when she was 34 from alcohol, prescription drug abuse and bulimia after a marriage and divorce. Of course, it was a tragedy, but that was not the impression Carly was creating. The woman did not die from abuse of illegal drugs.

Carly’s claim that she “buried a child to drug addiction” creates the false impression that her own child died from illegal drugs in high school or college. This was a blatant attempt at manipulation with misleading statements. I cannot respect her for taking us for fools.

A more accurate claim would be “I buried my stepchild, my husband Frank’s daughter, to bulimia, alcohol, and prescription drug addiction, when she was in her thirties.”

But that would not have had the effect she wanted. She really showed a lack of respect for both Lori and her bio-mother.

FReeper beaversmom said it even more clearly in another thread. “I believe Fiorina used her adult step-daughter’s death as a political prop. To convey clout on the subject. To garner sympathy. To score political points. To stop the discussion. Who can argue with her after that? Who’s gonna have the balls? SHE buried HER daughter.

“I knew at the time of the debate it was her step-daughter, but I didn’t know her step daughter’s death was from legal drugs. And she didn’t BURY her. She was an ADULT step-daughter. It sounds like the daughter was primarily raised by her biological mom. The step-daughter was married. CF did not bury her. She left out some of this because it wasn’t convenient for her narrative. It wouldn’t have gotten her as many points if she gave the full picture.”
