Carly Fiorina Is the New Mitt Romney
Daily Beast ^ | 9/22/15

A former CEO gets taken to the woodshed for job cuts—and loses an election. Sound familiar? Carly Fiorina has a Mitt Romney problem.

Fiorina, like Romney, is a wealthy former CEO from an affluent Republican family. Like Romney, she entered the Republican presidential contest assuming that her record running a large company would be one of her greatest assets. But she may be about to learn that her opponents have little trouble turning that record into her greatest liability.

Like Romney’s tenure at Bain Capital, the private equity firm at which he oversaw the dismantling of numerous companies purchased by Bain, Fiorina’s record at Hewlett-Packard was notable for the number of workers fired on her watch. Romney’s Republican primary opponents, as well as the Obama campaign, attacked Romney’s record at Bain so aggressively that by the end of the 2012 campaign some people were using Bain as a verb: to destroy a wealthy candidate’s public image by attacking their business record.

Fiorina is about to get Bained. And if history is any guide, it’s an assault she may not be able to withstand.

-snip-

Her time running Hewlett-Packard was highly controversial. Fiorina deflects criticism of her 5½ years at the helm by noting that the company’s revenue doubled during that time. But, as Bloomberg View’s Justin Fox notes, “that was mainly because she made a gigantic and controversial acquisition.” Fiorina acquired Compaq, a computer manufacturer, for $19 billion in 2002—a move largely received by those within (PDF) and observing HP as unwise. Dell Computer’s Michael Dell called it the “dumbest deal of the decade.” By the time Fiorina was pushed out of HP three years after the Compaq deal, and given a $21 million severance package, HP had laid off 30,000 workers.

“NEW YORK — Republican presidential candidate Carly Fiorina said on The Tonight Show on Monday that she believes a Muslim shouldn’t be prevented from serving as president.

Fiorina’s comments came a day after fellow Republican candidate Ben Carson sparked controversy on NBC’s Meet the Press when he said that he does not believe a Muslim should hold the nation’s highest office.”

Carly is a bishop of a large church and has attained god-hood?

It's a fair comparison. I suspect everyone in MA knows someone who lost a job because of Bain Capital, and the jobs created were things like clerk at Staples. Romney didn't even run a serious campaign in MA. He was a designated loser, no question.

Is Carly someone who would be wasting her time to even bother campaigning in CA? That should tell us something.

Even though it’s from the Daily Beast, this article could not be more on-target.

If she is the nominee Fiorina will get DESTROYED in the very same way that Romney did. There are hundreds of bitter ex-HP employees lying in wait for their chance to “swiftboat” her.

It says as much about how our society has embraced class warfare as it does about anything in her record. Regardless, it took down Romney and it will take her down too.

Bain Capital was a side issue and in no comparison to HP. Romney won the governorship with Bain Capital. HP is no longer the same company it was before Carly Fiorna. Mitt’s biggest albatross was Romneycare. Obamacare was based on Romneycare. Romney could not run against Obamacare, that issue was essentially taken off the table.

FioRINO was destroyed by Boxer once.

Karl Rove wants FioRINO to be destroyed again by Hillary for an encore.

She doubled sales all right but she still lost billions in profits.

Fiorina is the one who gets the most attacks here, so she must be perceived as the one best able to present a rational conservative alternative to the leftist populist Trump.

Mitt’s bigger problem was his political record. What limited political experience he had was a disaster. Why did the GOPe think this guy was some type of superstar? Sad thing is that they still do.

FioRINO is a proven loser. She lost to Boxer in a landslide and she will lose to Hillary. But that’s the GOPe plan, right?

Carly Fiorina Is the New Mitt Romney

Uh, no.

She is a current useful tool of the GOPEstablishment to dent or take Trump down. That is part of the reason CNN expanded their stage at the last moment to include her.

The GOPEstablishment are using her. They have no intention of her ever getting close to the nomination. She has too much baggage from the business world.

Understanding what really happened with HP requires far more analysis and intellect than most voters possess or are willing to invest, and the dumbed-down soundbite version reported here and in the media will ultimately end Fiorina’s candidacy.

She may end up in a cabinet position. Other than gender, she doesn’t add anything to a ticket as VP.

“Carly Fiorina is the new Mitt Romney”

Oh, Really?

Didn’t the old Mitt Romney lose the 2012 Presidential Race and gave us four more years of Obama?

So - if “Carly Fiorina is the new Mitt Romney” does that mean she is going to lose the 2016 Presidential Race and give us another Obama-like President?
