Watching the Republican presidential debates, a lay observer might think that the GOP is divided between elected insiders, like Senator Marco Rubio and outsiders, like businesswoman Carly Fiorina. The truth is that divisions exist between the Congressional Republicans as well. As the leader of the largest Republican majority in the House since 1928, Speaker John Boehner shoulders the unenviable task of pushing the GOPs agenda while dealing with members of the party who want to shut down the federal government...again.
Boehner was reelected to his position as speaker of the house in January. But during the most recent in camera speaker election, 25 members of the GOP voted for various other candidates. Mark Meadows, a Republican from North Carolina, recently introduced a resolution to the House Rules Committee to declare the speaker position vacant, which would remove Boehner from office in the middle of his term. In House tradition, any speaker on the floor can bring up a Rules resolution during debate. But even if someone like Meadows forced the issue to the floor, it's unlikely that there would be enough dissenting votes to oust Boehner.

I don’t think the GOP HAS an actual platform agenda. What they have a pack of lies they tell us every two years, and Chinese Menu of excuses to give us when they stab us in the back time after time.
That’s a lot of words to say “because he’s a RINO wimp who constantly bends over for Obama.”
The only thing Boehner has pushed has been amnesty. Over and over and over he keeps bringing it back up only to get slapped down by the public. Other than that, he pushes nothing and does nothing but complain behind closed doors about how much he loathes conservatives.
Boehner is a HUGE disappointment....he NEEDS to be gone.
> Thats a lot of words to say because hes a RINO wimp who constantly bends over for Obama.
Its just part of Boehner’s “free” healtthcare package. Obama gives him free colonoscopies...
The liberal narrative is alive and strong. The narrative asserts:
--Only Republicans can shut down the federal government.
--Democrats (and the President in particular) have no role in a government shutdown. Vetoes and filibusters play no part in shutdowns.
--Federal shutdowns are incredibly bad for America because the Democrats and media say so.
--Government shutdowns hurt women and children most.

LOOOOOSER
the article acts like Boehner got there with zero conservative help.
Newsflash: conservatives are part of the reason you are Speaker, Boehner. Diss them at your own peril.
Bohener is a go along get along everybody is making lots of money drunk.
“Leader”? Get real, this drunk couldn’t lead lemming over a cliff.
Conservative? Not one bit.
[Boner isn’t worried. The Dems are going to save him.]
^^^This. Just more theater to distract us from the budget which will be allowed to languish until it is hard up against the deadline. A continuing resolution will be passed just hours late in some more contrived drama. The continuing resolution permits the administration to fully utilize the federal slush fund as they see fit to undermine the US taxpayer at will.
This tactic is nothing short of treason on the part of the Cheeto and the turtle as replacing a fed gov constitutionally structured governance with a virtual dictatorship.
Yes and wrapped up in that cookie dough is some method of making Cruz a fall guy.
