It’s amazing to me how many self professed athiests, actually militantly athiestic Leftist of the type that easilyand regularly condemn religion and faith as superstition, are swooning over Francis.
I said the same to my wife. The Pope’s relevance in/to my life is zilch no matter how much some people would like it to be such . I think there are more protestants in the US than Catholics but the Catholics are more cohesive as a societal group.
There is no such thing.

He has stated all of this quite firmly. As for other things...no Pope has authority in areas of politics, science or economics. Most faithful Catholics know and understand this.
