White House seeks Pope's help on prisoners in Iran
Politico ^ | September 20, 2015 | By Nahal Toosi

The Obama administration has been quietly in touch with the Vatican about ways that Pope Francis can help free three Americans imprisoned in Iran — a major source of friction as President Barack Obama and Iranian leaders finalize their nuclear deal.

The leader of the world's 1.2 billion Catholics — who already has helped the U.S. mend fences with Cuba, another long-time nemesis — visits Washington this week as the dust is still settling from a contentious congressional debate over the nuclear deal, in which the fate of the three prisoners was repeatedly invoked by Republicans as a reason not to negotiate.

According to a person familiar with the cases, the U.S. and the Vatican have been in contact in recent months about the prisoners and at least one prisoner's family has reached out directly to Pope Francis for help.

The pope doesn't command any military divisions, as Joseph Stalin is said to have pointed out. But the idea of the Roman Catholic leader trying to nudge Islamist theocrats in Iran to release Americans isn't far-fetched. Just a few months ago, he met with a high-ranking Iranian female politician, a sign of his ongoing interest in the country. . .

Why does the muzzie in the White Hut need help from the Pope when he’s such good friends with the Muslim Brotherhood?

Ya. Like the Pope is going to have some kind of “in” with the jihadists who would take him out in a heartbeat.

Obama is a communist, an atheist. He has no sincere belief in religion. He only pretends when it benefits the larger agenda.

Should have been done before we even sat down at the table with Iran.

"Why does the muzzie in the White Hut need help from the Pope when he’s such good friends with the Muslim Brotherhood?"

Because he is so clueless and incompetent, he is incapable of doing anything himself. He arrived in office with such a strong hand of cards against Iran he could easily have prevented the need to have any hostages released at all. (Remember President Reagan? The Iranian government was so frightened of him they released all of their hostages literally minutes before his inauguration.)

Instead, president obama ((capitals not earned), pitched his strong hand down the toilet, and negotiated on his knees. He needs all the help he can get, and even that will not be enough.

“Give me a break!!”

How about a deal that has already been made and is being
played up for the best impact. The fraudulent Obama teams
up with the fraudulent Pope on Dope and they play it out like
a great deal is being made when all along the prisoners
freedom has already been bought with a deal making Iran
nuclear. The Obama looks good dealing with the Pope dope and
the Pope on Dope looks good dealing with Iran. With the
Obama and this particular Pope nothing is what it seems.
They are both evil and liars.

Does “Kill all the Christians and Jews” sound familiar. It is the command of Mohammed.

According to this pope we Americans are non-poverty capitalists, anti-enviromentalists, nationalists but I guess we don’t need the salvation of Jesus because he never talks about that. He’s no Pope John Paul II that’s for sure.

Why would he listen to the Pope? Plenty of *experts* have been ignored

Hussein doesn’t give a wit about Christianity.

Bizarre.
We release billions of dollars to Iran, then beg them to release our hostages.
