A bronze bust of British colonialist Cecil John Rhodes has lost its nose to vandals who severed it with a power tool at a South African mountain slope overlooking Cape Town.
South African officials have increased security in Table Mountain National Park after the vandalism at the temple-like Rhodes Memorial on the slopes of Devil’s Peak, Merle Collins, a national parks spokeswoman, said Monday.
Parks staff have also been cleaning graffiti scrawled on the monument in the incident early Friday, Collins said. One slogan read: “Your dreams of empire will die.” …

Rhodes was monumental in the founding of south African states, such as “Rhodesia”. I know it is non-PC to favor someone like this, but truth be told, the colonization of backward places like Africa actually improved the native’s standard of living with better health, food, shelter, safety, education and on and on.
Once the more PC Mugabe took over, it did not take long for Rhodesia to slide into the Zimbabwe toilet.
For movie watchers, there’s a movie out there called “Rhodes”, another title if “Rhodes Of Africa”, and 1936 flick about Cecil. It’s worth the watch.
The vandals’ dreams of sanitary and safe society will die and they’ll be crapping behind trees and running from the wildlife again once they’ve completely dismantled the ‘empire’.

Africa would be 10000% times better off today under colonial rule. Sad but true. They’d also be worse off if the White man had never come to Africa, some Caliphate would probably rule the whole continent by now.
