When gloomy Republican Party leaders regrouped after President Obamas 2012 re-election, they were intent on enhancing the partys chances of winning back the White House. The result: new rules to head off a prolonged and divisive nomination fight, and to make certain the Republican standard-bearer is not pulled too far to the right before Election Day. But as the sprawling class of 2016 Republican presidential candidates tumbled out of their chaotic second debate last week, it was increasingly clear that those rule changes from limiting the number of debates to adjusting how delegates are allocated had failed to bring to the nominating process the order and speed that party leaders had craved. In interviews, Republican leaders and strategists said that rather than having a presumptive nominee by early 2016, who could turn to the tasks of raising money and making the case against the Democratic candidates, it was doubtful that a candidate would be in place before late spring or even before Republicans gather for their convention in Cleveland in July.

Because, gosh, offering voters a choice has NEVER worked before...
Oh, wait, it has. It is only the milk toast candidates who have crashed and burned.
A: I don’t think Carly is at all the GOP e choice - and B: there are several non GOP e candidates left besides Trump - and all of them are move conservative.
Carly is in it to help Bush eventually get the nomination.
She is not the GOPe choice. She is the GOPe helper to get Bush in.
The only non GOPe are Trump, Cruz, Jindle?, Walker?, Carson.
I certainly hope the rules changes blow up in their face.
The Cheap Labor Express still expects the RNC to nominate an amnesty candidate.
The only non GOPe are Trump, Cruz,
Well hey...if you can’t win by the rules...change’em.
Seriously, the only way the GOP will win is to support Trump and Cruz. Of course, the GOP would not consider that winning.
RNC/GOPe Rule Changes and How They Impact The 2016 Presidential Primary
“The rules, like the primary road-map underneath them, were designed with two or three potentially favorable candidates all vying for the non-Jeb vote. Anticipated adversaries were Ted Cruz, Rand Paul and possibly Scott Walker or similar. However, the primary opponent was always going to be a non-establishment candidate (ie. Ted Cruz type).
Jebs splitter team strategy was created with these rules and opponents in mind. Donald Trump was NEVER anticipated hence the urgency: Trump simply must be destroyed.”
GOP insiders are out of touch with reality.
The GOP base has tuned them out and is no longer listening to them.
They’re no longer in control of the process and the country doesn’t want them.
The GOP establishment may be content to manage America’s decline.
On the other hand, the American people don’t and are fed up.
and Carson is a GOPe candidate?
Oops. I forgot about Santorum.
Assuming Trump remains atop the polling, we might see open primary states change the rules, assuming his crossover appeal is genuine.
I don't believe he is GOPe but I do think the GOPe is manipulating his campaign to build him up now so he can be taken out later.
They are using him to take out Trump.
Whether that's true or not, that is not what the other poster indicated. And per your list, yes, there are 5 non GOP e candidates besides Trump.
The GOP would rather have Hillary win than find itself beholden to a Republican President who isn’t hailing from the establishment.
Mark my words: it will do all it can to get Hillary elected should Trump become the GOP nominee.
He’s for amnesty, so yes.
Exactly.
Mark my words: it will do all it can to get Hillary elected should Trump become the GOP nominee.
Trump knows he will be running like a 3rd party candidate even if he wins the nomination...only he could pull that off.
It doesn’t take a genius to notice that the same Gop-e and liberal media that hates Trump and Cruz are way over enthusiastic about how great Carly is. So whether you think Carly is the candidate the gopE wants to be nominated or they just see her as a tool in their ultimate strategy is essentially irrelevant.
