Here’s where a live link will be, later, for this speech...
I literally went for years thinking Springsteen's "Born in the USA" was a pro-America album until somebody pointed out to me that the album cover featured Springsteen appearing to "urinate" on the US Flag and that some of his song lyrics were anti-American.
I never picked up on that but for me, the music from that album (another of my alltime favorites) will always remind me of the mid-1980s, when Reagan was president and the future seemed very, very bright.
I think they were just messing around.
BFL. Thanks.
Note: Times are Iowa CST.
for EST, add one hour.
Trump’s jet should be landing in Iowa any minute now.
“Urbandale High School students launched a social media campaign to bring a presidential candidates to speak during homecoming.

It will be followed by a 7 p.m. program at the high school stadium. Its expected to last about an hour.”
It wasn’t you, I often want to laugh at myself after a while when I listen to music like Donald Fagen’s or Steely Dan’s, and because I already of their reputation for irony and hipness, I find myself looking for irony in everything they do, and sometimes it just is what it is, even for people like them. They’re human too, not these turbo-charged perpetual fountains of hip irony that (relatively) culturally unsophisticated like me can begin to believe they are. I don’t mean that that means that I am incapable of understanding depth or sophistication, I just never lived in a mileu where it was as natural as breathing (like some people who always lived in NYC, not all of thm by any means, there were always the Archie Bunkers, and the just plain people like me, strivers, but not naturals). I mean, it took NYC to make the Woody Allens, Neil Simons, et al (is there a correlation with the huge Jewish cultural influence in that city, here? Gosh, I do love to analyse and over-analyse, but with feedback with people who know more or different things than I do, that’s how you find things out :) )
