Nobel secretary regrets Obama peace prize
BBC ^ | 09/17/15

Awarding the Nobel Peace Prize to US President Barack Obama in 2009 failed to achieve what the committee hoped it would, its ex-secretary has said.

Geir Lundestad told the AP news agency that the committee hoped the award would strengthen Mr Obama.

Instead, the decision was met with criticism in the US. Many argued he had not had any impact worthy of the award.

Mr Lundestad, writing in his memoir, Secretary of Peace, said even Mr Obama himself had been surprised.

"No Nobel Peace Prize ever elicited more attention than the 2009 prize to Barack Obama," Mr Lundestad writes.

"Even many of Obama's supporters believed that the prize was a mistake," he says. "In that sense the committee didn't achieve what it had hoped for". Image copyright AFP Image caption Mr Obama was presented the award by committee chairman Thorbjorn Jagland

They downgraded the meaning of the prize. Of course they have been doing that for years and years, but that was a big drop. They don’t care about peace. They care about leftist politics.

Guy’s an idiot, as is the entire panel that selected Obama. They made the Nobel prize as a thing for ‘good’ absolutely worthless.

absolutely no qualifications.

So they're as much as admitting they didn't give out the prize based on what he HAD accomplished, but what they were hoping he WOULD accomplish.

Piss poor logic, if you ask me. Especially when you're talking about a liberal. When do they EVER deliver on their promises?

Well, that certainly speaks volumes. The Nobel committee admits using their award to initiate social engineering instead of awarding achievement.

So they awarded it NOT TO someone who had helped promote world peace, but to someone they hoped would, in the future, because he got this nice award.

Oh and some money...

They were expecting something in return? Giving an award to someone BEFORE they do something is silly. Clearly, the NPP is political.

Usually they award to recipients AFTER the have done something significant, not before.

That's the mode of leftists, they honor a "sense of achievement" rather than actual value. Likewise, the notion of "self esteem" is their holy grail as opposed to real accomplishment. Aside from their shared muzzie "faith", that's why hussein is inviting mooselimb clock boy to the White Mosque. The yute didn't build anything of worth, he just hacked together a few parts and put it in a case. To the leftists who are rallying to his side, that's their idea of inventiveness.
