White Professor Labels Scott Walker Racist For Union Reform, Lives In Town With 19 BLACK PEOPLE
Daily Caller ^ | September 17, 2015 | Eric Owen

The two authors [Dylan Bennett of the University of Wisconsin-Waukesha and University of Washington Ph.D. candidate Hannah Walker] construct their argument calling Walker a racist by observing that the city of Milwaukee is home to the largest concentration of black people in Milwaukee. As in many metropolitan areas, many of the suburbs surrounding Milwaukee “such as Brookfield and Waukesha” are chockablock with white residents. Thus, the white scholars contend, any effort to reduce the scope of government is racist even if — especially if — proponents of limited government never use any overtly racist language.

“Governor Walker engages a strong, populist message directed at a vague popular majority with an exclusive claim to common sense, morality, and hard work,” the academics suggest. Such talk is “covert racism” that only professors like Bennett and Hannah Walker can see.

Also racist is the phrase “Midwestern work ethic.” Any aspiration to “put the government back on the side of the people again” is racist, too, the self-proclaimed critical race theory scholars explain.

“In the tradition of covert racism such appeals to common sense, morality, and hard work are references to whiteness,” Bennett and Hannah Walker charge concerning Scott Walker, according to EAGnews.

Scott Walker’s avoidance of racial terms or anything concerning race is, in fact, damning proof that Walker is a terrible racist, the authors also proclaim.

Joan Walsh also makes it a black and white issue, since, proportionally, black workers have high employment numbers in the public sector:

"....Walker is a master of the politics of resentment, turning Wisconsin into an ideological war zone and pitting the good white people of the state against the cities, particularly heavily African American Milwaukee. In his crusade against public sector unions, Walker counted on the ire of private sector workers who’ve watched their own wages and benefits decline, at paying for a public sector where employees have it better than they do..." - Salon

Gov. Scott Walker My Plan to give Power to the People not the Union Bosses

Sept 16, 2015: Dems answer Walker with labor law bill "Two days after Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker unveiled his plans to eliminate the NLRB and take right-to-work national, congressional Democrats will today propose legislation developed with the AFL-CIO to stiffen penalties for employers who violate the National Labor Relations Act.

Sen. Patty Murray and Rep. Bobby Scott will introduce a bill that they say would “help ensure workers are able to have a voice in the workplace and would crack down on employers who break the law when workers exercise their right to collective action.” AFL-CIO President Richard Trumka will stand alongside the lawmakers at a 2:30 p.m. press conference in the Senate.

AFL-CIO leaders have been talking up this bill for months without revealing any details; Trumka finally said that it would allow the NLRB to collect “treble damages” against employers. Under the status quo the NLRB is not able to collect damages of any kind, nor to levy fines; its enforcement powers are confined to reinstating fired or demoted workers and awarding back pay. So opening the door even a crack to punitive or compensatory damages would be a very big deal. Sen. Bernie Sanders also plans to issue a labor law reform proposal shortly, with card check provisions similar to those in the Employee Free Choice Act, which back in 2007 cleared the (then-Democratic) House 241-185 but was killed off in the Senate by a GOP filibuster........"

I remember Ted Koppel having a group of former Detroit residents, all white, on his show. He spent an hour accusing them of being “racist” for having left Detroit for the suburbs. At that time Koppel lived in a gated community in Maryland that was 99.6 percent white.

I lived in Milwaukee in 1962-63-64.

There was already a problem with the high black UNEMPLOYED & UNEMPLOYABLE population there then.

It hasn’t improved.

I would not go to Milwaukee for ANY reason now.

The crackpot White academics, quoted above, illustrate the morphing of the terms "racism" & "racist," into tools for Leftist agitation, discussed among other attacks on reality in Reality Is Not A Grievance.

As an undergraduate at Oberlin College, many years ago, I had the opportunity to observe the "thought" processes of the Left in Academia, and came to understand two vital things for understanding what has been going on:

1. The "philosophy" of the Academic Left is not grounded on reality, but is drawn from an airborne wish list.

2. Having no grounded premises, any verbal contrivance or rationalization to "support," the things wished for, is accepted without actual analysis.

The silly diatribes quote here, would, sadly, be considered reasoned analysis, on most campuses in what education in America has now devolved to.

Milwaukee used to be a fun town. They had, and probably still have a great Municipal museum. Used to take my kids there for a weekend.

The Sheriff up there is probably one of the most outspoken Black conservatives in America, these days; but there is only so much any one person can do.

I work with a ton of them. While pushing their diversity, inclusivity, and social justice programs, they all send their kids to exclusive private schools.

I’ve been saying this on FR for years:

White liberals won’t live in black or “diverse” hoods. They seek out the safety of conservative white suburbs or gentrified hoods of their own kind. When do you ever see one even LOOKING in a minority neighborhood for a place to live.

They are the worst form of hypocrites and should have been called out decades ago. Also, let these “intellectuals” give up their own jobs in the name of “Diversity” Notice how they never do that ?

It’s always about camouflaging their own racism and looking out for themselves. They remind me of the school brat who causes trouble then hides behind mommy and daddy while calling everyone else out. Crybabies and sissies and hypocrites, that’s white liberals.

The city of Milwaukee is ALSO home to the largest concentration of Native American people in Milwaukee!

(I lived in Wauwatosa in the 1980s, and there was a palpable change between than and when I next visited a few years later. No longer "A Great City on a Great Lake!" It's a city. On a lake. True.)

I've been saying this for years -- the most liberal states have the fewest diverse neighborhoods.

Yep. They don’t have to live among the vermin.
People have stereotypes for a reason. People have anonymity toward other folks for a reason.

All of these so called non racists need to work at a liquor store on Chelsea Blvd. in Memphis for one week to have the black experience as most of us know it. I will venture that those black apologists will be singing a different tune.

Common sense, hard work, morality and Midwestern work ethic - now these terms are white racism.

These two professors are the biggest racists around for they just dissed hard working, moral, common-sense practicing blacks who follow the Midwestern work ethic”, as well as any other minority who have these qualities.

Only college professors and Obama/staff could make the American work ethic into something racist.

I guess unemployed black and Hispanic youth (i.e. gangs) are practicing the opposite “non-racist” acts such as being “not hard working, have no morals, lack common sense and repudiate the Midwestern work ethic”.

In fact, that seems to describe many of Obama’s uneducated, under-educated and over-educated supporters including these two racist/Marxist professors.

But I could be wrong. DOUBT IT!

Thank you for the article you linked.

As I indicated from my own academic experience, I understand very well how the Wisconsin variety of pseudo-intellectual academics would implement such goals.

Some Conservative group should sponsor an essay contest, with financial rewards to the best undergraduate expose' of the idiocy of that implementation. In short, make it lucrative to appreciate the potential fun in unhorsing mountebanks in academia. (And it really can be fun.)
