No. There is an accurate belief among conservatives that big government liberals of both parties care far more about keeping government open than decent people do. That belief leads to the conclusion that a government shutdown with backbone behind it is a win for America. Either an over-sized government stays shut down and does less harm than it otherwise would, or the big government liberals back down and agree to genuine cuts in their bloated FedGov.
I'd like to see the GOP House and Senate pass budget bills to fund the important parts of government more than ten days before the deadline. That is early enough that they become law with or without Obama's signature unless he vetoes those bills. Then take the other bills to the deadline, and America's enemies no longer have the threat of shutting down all of FedGov. Pass bills that deny funding for Obamacare, Planned Parenthood, and everything else in FedGov that shouldn't exist. Let the liberals decide whether to shutdown Education, EPA, HHS, and other departments that shouldn't exist and that don't help productive people, or permanently remove their most useless or most harmful parts.
