National Review ^ | September 13, 2015 | Tom S. Elliott

New York Times columnist David Brooks chastised supporters of Dr. Ben Carson and Donald Trump for showing “insufficient respect” for the Republican establishment. “It’s like a mutiny, not a campaign,” Brooks said on Sunday’s Meet the Press.”The problem is, there’s an illusion in this country, and in the Republican base, that you can govern by screaming.”

Barf. What has the GOPe done to earn my respect? They sure fight like hell when they are serving their pay masters, for example, trade authorization, but sell us out on everything we care about.

What David Brooks considers "respect" ....

“I remember distinctly an image of–we were sitting on his couches, and I was looking at his pant leg and his perfectly creased pant,” Brooks says, “and I’m thinking, a) he’s going to be president and b) he’ll be a very good president.”

No, I think that it is the proper measure of respect, IMO.

I would agree, the base does disrespect the GOPe. However, THEY'VE EARNED IT!

When McConnell et al said (paraphrasing),"We're going to crush the TEA party," the base heard and remembers. And we're pi***d.

Borrowing from President Ronald Reagan, "I didn't leave the Republican Party; the Republican Party left me."

[Supporters of Dr. Ben Carson and Donald Trump for showing “insufficient respect” for the Republican establishment.]

What respectful political party would consistently ask its members to vote for the ‘lesser of two evils?’

There is simply no such thing as “Insufficient respect for the GOP establishment.”

The question of how little respect one could have for these mendacious lying a-holes is akin to the question of how many angels can fit on the head of a pin.

Ok they demand my respect?

Screw’em, they need to EARN my respect. They don’t respect me or my positions so that’s going to be really tough for them to do. So be it...

Mr Brooks, we've been asking and working and lobbying the GOP Establishment for FIFTEEN YEARS, and they haven't heard us yet. We have no choice remaining but to scream, and to work for their removal... and judging by the polls, it is working. It is the GOP Establishment that must change, and now, or else they will be replaced.

But we will do it politely, if you prefer. Once your beloved Establishment fools are removed, we will keep the celebration noise down to modest levels, and will not let it go much past 11pm. Will that make you feel better?

Brooks is right in a way. There's an illusion in this country, all right, and Brooks is definitely under it.

"Insufficient" respect? What about NO respect!

Maybe this little twerp can fathom this...the majority called and pleaded with the oligarchy in DC to oppose numerous Obama agendas, yet the oligarchy ignored the majority.

So we scream you worthless little asshole, and now you are either going to get to see a non oligarch elected, or you will get to see a shooting civil war. All of it brought by your friends, the establishment elite in the nor loch.

If Trump, Cruz or Carson win, the insiders will be on the outside looking in. That makes the Uni-Party-Media Complex unhappy.

Trump and Cruz are the ultimate party crashers. They show up uninvited, at your party, then proceed to take over.
