Charismatic pope gains fans in and out of Catholic Church with liberal views

(CNN) —Some pontiffs have been beatified or canonized, but Pope Francis is receiving a far more dubious honor.

He's being "Obamified."

The charismatic pope, who arrives in the United States on September 22, has gained fans in and out of the Catholic Church for denouncing unfettered capitalism, warning about climate change and urging mercy toward divorced couples and women who have had abortions.

He's also sparked a strange trend. The same political slurs and conspiracy theories that critics have used against President Barack Obama are now being deployed against Pope Francis. One critic even says the two leaders have morphed into one sinister figure he calls "Popama."

He is the most unCatholic Pope I have ever seen. The anti-JP2.

JP2 wasn’t as much Catholic as he was Christian.

1. “Unfettered capitalism” doesn’t exist anywhere in the world - the degree to which it is fettered simply varies from place to place. That’s a strawman.

2. As an observant Catholic, I accept the Pope’s authority in matters of faith and morals. The facts of global warming/climate change/climate disruption are not matters of faith and morals, they are matters of scientific inquiry. With all due respect, the Pope doesn’t know diddly there.

3. Catholics have always been able to dissolve marriages through annulment; assuming a marriage is truly invalid under Catholic doctrine, the only question is how much hassle one has to go through to truly establish that matter. If Francis has maintained the integrity of the process while making it faster and easier, that’s great.

4. Catholic teaching has always - always - confirmed the forgiveness of sins, no matter how heinous; we’d all be condemned otherwise. Women who’ve ended the lives of their unborn children have always had the opportunity to avail themselves of the confessional; if they maintained true remorse and were determined never to repeat that transgression, Catholic doctrine has always been that they’d enjoy God’s forgiveness. Francis didn’t just come up with that option; I’m not too sure what he really did, except maybe encourage both the laity and the clergy to utilize that option.

So the foundation of this “reporter’s” piece is just so much horse-pucky.

fettered - 1.restrained with chains or manacles, typically around the ankles:

Doesn't sound like the type of capitalism we'd want.

Obama did not do it. Francis got it where Obama got it. It comes from the teachings of marxism.

The pope has been dutifully smarmied by the great Bark Obama. I can not name a thing of global interest where the two disagree.

The pope was nicely used to flatter up Cuba and enrich the communist Castros’. Now its the bearers of Islam, otherwise known as “refugees” that the pope implores the world to take in.

Never mind that they are far and away mostly Muslim men, (which is damn curious even for us idiots), capable of being Muslim infiltrators to ISIS combatants.

Oh, heck, why detail the train long list of hand in glove workings between the Marxist/Communist aims.

Unless you have been asleep you certainly already know all of them by now anyway. Including the homo leaning Sin Nod coming at your soon. Ick.

You are quite correct, but I don’t even CARE where they got it.

Remember that scene in Moonstruck? Where Cher yells at Nicolas Cage, “SNAP OUT OF IT!!!”

“Obama did not do it. Francis got it where Obama got it. It comes from the teachings of Marxism”.

That’s right. They’re birds of a feather.

Mission Creep

This Pope has lost track of his mission and priorities.

Muslims are slaughtering Catholics and other Christians while he prates on about global warming and the evils of capitalism.

It sounds to me as though somebody made Pope Benedict XVI an offer he couldn’t refuse. Barry appears to have been the signal that sent the global communists into action. Francis became part of the plan, perhaps unwittingly. But both appear to hate American freedom and capitalism.

I’m Not a big fan of this Pope however he never said “unfettered Capitalism”.

Here is what he said
“And behind all this pain, death and destruction there is the stench of what Basil of Caesarea, one of the church’s first theologians, called ‘the dung of the devil.’ An unfettered pursuit of money rules. That is the dung of the devil.”
Its the left that interprets and mis-reports what he said.

Why do we have these discussions about the alleged evils of unfettered capitalism?

As noted, there is not unfettered capitalism anywhere in the world. All capitalist countries/economies are subject to varying degrees of government control and oversight.

And, how do we evaluate the alleged problems of capitalism? Do we compare to the alleged joys of communism as an economic/social system? But if we are going to go there, don’t we have to talk about the tens of millions of people who have been executed by communist regimes? How many people have been political prisoners or executed as enemies of the state by capitalist regimes????

If capitalism is so evil, why have so many sought to immigrate to America and other western countries?

If capitalism is so evil, why did so many risk their lives back in the days of the Berlin Wall and Iron Curtain, to escape communism??

Sorry to ramble here, but it’s disturbing to here talk of how evil capitalism and our system of government and societal structure is. Where anywhere in history, has there been an example of a system which is better than what we have now???

That statement is perfectly fine. Francis is referring to the likes of financial manipulators like Soros and crony capitalists in the sense used by Sarah Palin.
In a way Francis is bashing the likes of “Club for Growth” with Trump has called a pack of thieves.

Pope Francis has been a disaster from the start. I am not Catholic so I guess what do I care? I don’t except I feel bad for my Catholic friends.
