RE: terms of office

Elected terms cover the length of their elective office BUT NOT the length of their serving as party leaders within House or Senate. Those are set by votes of the other members of the same party.

If there is enough public outcry about them, both Boehner and McConnell could be forced out of their leadership positions at any time. Either could also be forced out of their leadership positions by criminal charges, which I personally think each merits on a daily basis, but that is subjective opinion. McConnell might be forced out by a treason charge for allowing the Corker bill to come to a vote, but more likely, a major pubic outcry is more likely to succeed.

Problem is that the only thing I believe in anymore is Jesus Christ, and He’s not running.

I’m not sure that there is any way out of the place we find ourselves in. I don’t think any man can fix what we have broken.

We may well be in for a fall.

We are/ There is no mathematical way we fix this. But we need to fight for a foundation for the rebuilding after. When it collapses there needs to be something to build from.

The people that caused and contributed must be shown to be what they are. The actual problem we don’t want running anything.

I’m supporting Cruz. For various reasons, I’ve ruled out Bush, Gilmore, Graham, Huckabee, Kasich, Pataki, Paul, and Santorum. I’m still not sure about Carson, Christie, Fiorina, Jindal, Rubio, Trump, or Walker.

I hope to be watching the debates on Wednesday.

YES! I like Cruz best, but I’m A-OKay with Mr. Trump!!!

I just ordered 3 caps from his store.

Fiorina, Jindal and Christie won’t be the nominee.

Like you, I absolutely refuse to vote for Bush.

Problem is as soon as you create a mechanism for someone to control someone else, it will draws the mastermind types.

It will draw those obsessed with power and control, and these types never rest or stop.

These are the ones that think that they can build Utopia, but they don’t realize or care the Utopia is a synonym for Hell.

The only perfect society is Heaven.

The closet man can get to a perfect society is a free society inhabited by moral people who love Jesus and live as best they can in a manner that honors Him.

I am not a super religious guy, but I truly believe without Jesus Christ, mankind’s drift is toward darkness.

I believe that as soon as a society creates a central government, it dooms itself.

If man cannot govern himself by way of the teaching of Jesus, then he is doomed to be enslaved by other men who believe that they are God.

"...unless Republican leaders in Congress use the next four months to do the people’s business, to finally put up a strong fight against Obama, and to vote on a clear fiscally conservative agenda, they will be totally abandoned by the people who gave them the gavel, and they will be overwhelmed by more of the Trump tidal wave."

As expected, it's a clean out the stables article.

At this point in the horse race, it's best to try to pressure the Congress or be busy taking names, bigtime.

I look at it like this. I agree we cannot know the mind of another completely and things along those lines.

That said, we as a species SOMEHOW manage, most of us at least, to associate ourselves in life with people like us more than people we oppose/dislike on a fundamental level.

No one invites the alchholic MMA fighter from work to the neighborhood beer bash on July 4th., they avoid him and when they go all ‘forgiving’ then that man wrecks their get together.

We do not go date the chick that we know put her last boyfriend in jail for violent rape when he wasn’t even in the country the day it happend. Same reason.

We MIGHT have a bad outcome with a new guy we arent sure of from the office or the girl we just met at the beach. And we fundamentally and instinctively know the difference.

But we never EVER apply such simple human survival instincts to pols. We don’t need perfect. But someone we don’t have to default to defense over before day 1 begins is a good start.

human psychology and decision making abilities and criteria when it comes to selecting leaders or political representatives are truly bizarre.

It seems like normal judgment goes out the window when the prospect of power, holding power and participating in the sharing of power come into play.

Especially when one considers that almost all of us who participate in this process do not actually hold or participate in or share any power at all.

The reality is that all of as are ruled by people who don’t give a rat’s rear about anyone but themselves and their cronies.

but as long as “our guys”, the ones with the R’s by their names are in charge, then whatever evils they engage in are okay, because somehow we, their voters, are receiving some of the kickbacks and largess.

I think what this madness boils down to is that deep down man is a greedy fool, and it is difficult to find any virtue in this structure, if not impossible, because there is no virtue in it.

We are. But the concept of category error more than explains man’s ongoing political idiocy all by itself and the lesser evil meme is the definition of CE. You cannot fix a problem you incorrectly identify with the incorrect solution no matter how much you throw at it. And it’s worse yet to apply an incorrect solution for a problem you don’t even understand is a problem.

Take global warming as an example of that one. There is no Liberal warming. So no cash/law will or can fix what is not there.

The actual problem is liberal lust for control and thus the problem is misidentified from the getgo.

But Trump is supposed to be somebody who doesn't pull any punches.

Big deal he goes after a third rate candidates face.

Donald Trump's Tour of His Manhattan Office

Donald Trump took WSJ's Monica Langley on a tour of his office in the Trump Tower in Manhattan. Among his memorabilia:  one of Shaquille O'Neal's sneakers.

The classic false narrative that the GOPe is presently pushing.

Just like the idea that Carson is the ‘nice’, anti-Establishment alternative to Trump.
