Failed racist Baltimore Mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake has announced that she isn’t running for re-election. I wonder if #blacklivesmatter thugs will start to riot and claim it’s the white man’s fault that Rawlings-Blake isn’t running for re-election. Baltimore has been run into the ground by Democrats for the last 50+ years. Stephanie Rawlings-Blake might is not only a racist, but might very well be the worst of all the Democrats who have run Baltimore into the ground over the last 50 years. That’s quite an accomplishment when the mayor’s list includes dimwits like Martin O’Malley.

No worries, she’ll be replaced by a clone at the next election (or someone worse — and yes, they can always be worse as I’ve learned in my own city). Sure, the clone will look a little different, but the same policies.
She is probably getting a cut from the $6.4 million settlement.
Between that and her graft as mayor, she can probably retire.
She is just like Obama.
She made a huge mess that will take decades to fix if at all. She sees the destruction she has created and she runs away knowing she does not have the brains to fix it.
Obama has ruined the country, caused hundreds of thousands of people to be killed in the Middle East, created trillions in damages and he will leave the presidency much worse than he found it.
All these people know is failure and how to make others miserable.

Maybe, but at some point an area becomes so sh!tty they may even elect a white Republican again. After David Dinkins in NYC, Rudy Giuliani was able to win in that socialist toilet because wealthy libs were effected. I don’t know if Baltimore has fallen far enough yet, but if they keep electing people who simply point to black skin as their accomplishment then they are doomed.

I think her career in Baltimore ended when the Baltimore Orioles were forced to play a game in an empty stadium because of concerns about the safety of their fans. It will take the city years to recover from that kind of national public embarrassment.
Yeah, that didn’t help. I don’t know if that was worse than keeping the fans penned in after the game (I believe it was the first night of the “police action”); there was no way to mask that, as every fan eventually made their way home and told everyone they knew how much they must have feared for their lives (for such an extreme measure to be taken). I’d imagine thousands of people joined the already-swollen ranks of people who would never voluntarily put ourselves at the mercy of a savage mob like that.
It must suck to be elected to an office where your sole purpose is to find sugar daddies to feed your unemployable welfare class...
She can do all the damage she needs to between now and election time. They are already milking the city by settling the suit.
You have to look at the racial demographics. NYC was not so far gone in the early ‘90s that electing Giuliani was out of the question (after all, he did well in 1989 in his first match with Dinkins), and was still White plurality. Baltimore is about 64% Black and just 28% White (Hispanic a desultory 4%, which is odd, because the rest of MD is twice that).
Baltimore, like NYC, is historically a Democrat city even when it had overwhelmingly White majorities. Their last GOP Mayor was a left-winger (Ted McKeldin), about on par with John Lindsay (Lindsay being the worst NYC Mayor in the 20th century). McKeldin served two terms 20 years apart (from 1943-47 & again from 1963-67) and Governor (1951-59) in between.
At best, you might get a White elected (as what happened in Detroit recently for the first time since 1970), and B’more did elect O’Malley for 2 terms (and William Donald Schaefer when it was in transition), but he was an awful Mayor and passed his office to a crook (Sheila Dixon), followed by criminally incompetent Rawlings-Blake.
Even Gary, Indiana which had over a 90% Black population elected a White Democrat Mayor over a Black Republican by roughly the same % of the vote. Despite being elected to 3 4-year terms (!), he was unable to do anything, switched to Independent, and promptly moved away before his third term was finished.
Until Black residents in these cities wake up and realize it’s the policies that are killing them (no matter if they elect White, Black or Hispanic Dems, virtually all uniformally left-wing, unlike the more law & order populist Dems that still existed in the 1970s who were to the right of most urban Republicans today), nothing will ever change.
If Trump ends up with 25% or more of the Black vote (for the first time since 1960, since after 1964, it was polarized and radicalized for the Democrats at or above 90%), a crack might start to develop in the wall. Get it up to 30% or more and get in for other contests and we might start to see genuine competition for the Black vote and a realization that they don’t have to be locked into perpetual failure where the policies and pols they support are concerned.
I have utmost faith that they will find someone even worse.
