It was a winning tactic that was doomed to fail because of the failed GOP-E and the waste of their majorities in the Senate and House. The failure of all but a few to do what they said they would do. Senator Coats if you can’t try to do what you said you’d do and support those who will then go home.

If one side in a dispute over the use of the Federal Agency, created for certain specific purposes, is willing to block even those original purposes, if it does not get its way so far as completely unintended purposes that it desires; but the other side--the one that claims to want to keep the Agency on its intended footing, will not block the unintended purposes, for fear of interfering with the intended purposes; who is going to prevail? (Forgive the run on sentence.)

If Cruz is the only one in Congress who understands what is at stake; that does not add one whit to the rationalizations of those who always cave in one of these showdowns. The formula of those who say stand down, is one that can only lead to defeat. Isn't that patently obvious.
