So for the past few years I have decided to refocus my energy to searching for a different answer. The question now on my mind is: What do we as a society do to prevent 58 Americans from committing suicide with a gun every day?

More than 1,400 people have killed themselves by jumping off the Golden Gate Bridge. Does this guy mean to suggest that we should tear the bridge down?

Am I heartless for not feeling any pity for this bag of hot air?

Or am I just bored because it’s another dime a dozen “tragedy happened to me and I want everyone to suffer along with me” whines that completely glosses over facts and logic?

I am 37 years old, and I don't remember my mom. In fact, I know very little about her. I don't know her birthday. I don't know what made her laugh. I don't know what made her cry. What I do know is that on Sept. 8, 1979, she committed suicide with a gun that her father — my grandfather — had given her despite the fact that she suffered from depression and had previously attempted suicide with pills as a teenager.

She could just as easily taken more pills, slit her wrists, closed the garage door with the car running, or jumped off a bridge. If someone want’s to snuff themselves they can find a way.

"For most of my life, I have struggled with two questions: Why didn't I mean enough for my mom to push through her depression, and why did she do this to me?"

So, the woman's suicide was all about him.

Something stinks to high heaven here. She doesn’t know her mother’s birthday? Has she asked? Are questions about Mom taboo? Why?
Why wasn’t I enough for my mother to live for? Because mental illness does that to people. Why don’t we try treating that instead?
Again, I am struck by the “Me!” me, me, me. Boohoo poor me.
Why can’t she study psychology and find a cure for depression as the result of her childhood?
But no, the solution is always, and only, to ban guns.
I’ll bet the reality is far different from the story here.

Sorry, Ms. Penebaker (what the Hell kind of name is Khary?); but the fact that your grandfather and mother were nuts doesn’t allow you and your ilk to abridge my natural right to liberty and self-defense.

It should be easy to prove that very few in Alaska, Montana and Wyoming commit suicide by jumping in front of subway trains or leaping from high buildings.

New York should outlaw subway trains and high buildings.

For the Children.

She is the one promoting gun violence. Over and over the FACTS prove arming the community REDUCES crime. She is trying to disarm the community.

Japan has extremely strict gun control laws, to the point that civilian ownership is almost unheard of, yet Japan's suicide rate is higher than the U.S.

Treat the depression, not the object.

And, being a journalist, Khary Penebaker is the all-powerful conscience of society.

And yet in reality, the US would be about average in terms of suicides for a European country...and far, far lower than Japan, which has 70 suicides in an average day and a near total gun ban.

To me the biggest question is:
Why did your grandfather give his daughter a gun if he knew she was depressed and suicidal. Sounds like pure evil to me.

A huge proportion of “gun violence” is committed by Democrats in Democrat cities or by isolated Democrats elsewhere in the Free States. In facts, if you subtracted murders in Democrat cities from statistics for the rest of the United States, we’d have one of the lowest murder rates in the world. Commonsense gun control should mean confiscating guns from Democrats, shouldn’t it?
