>> This article is dated 2012, <<
What, you didn’t even read the article yourself? It plainly states that the data it uses is from 2008... which was odd, but not so bizarre as citing 2008 data in 2015.
>> Well no, just calling yourself religious is easy. Lots of Catholics do that. What is the result? Those who go to church frequently tend to vote conservative. Those who do not tend to vote for abortion and all sorts of havoc. Church attendance does indicate seriousness of commitment. <<
Exactly. Because Catholicism dictates that you attend church weekly. So if you don’t obey the church on one issue, you don’t obey it on many. It’s quite fascinating how determined you are to say that people who call themselves Christian and live according to Christian morality aren’t Christian.
>> By the way, you’re talking about Russians who are part of a religion where the Patriarch, a former KGB agent <<
Not a former KGB agent. Someone who people presumed must have cooperated with the KGB because they demanded the cooperation of anyone with such influence.
>> apparently wears 5,000 dollar watches which he incompetently airbrushes from press photos. <<
Which demonstrates what? How is that worse than America where the religious leaders boast about flying private Lear jets because God desires them to be wealthy? Yeah, the fact he wears a $5,000 watch... and worse, hides it... is a knock against him as a spiritual leader; it suggests he’s more slimy politician than prophet. But what does that say about the RO church members? That he believes that Russian Orthodox Christians would judge such materialism harshly?
I’m a Catholic. Our pope is an intellectual midget who pretends to be humble by upending 2,000 years of tradition, spending money needlessly to make photo ops to show he doesn’t spend money needlessly. But then, ironically contrary to Luther, Wycliffe and Hus, the peccability of the priest neither affects the validity of the sacrament, or serves as an ad hominem against the charisms which come from God and not man.
It nowhere says it was done in 2008. The number 2008 doesn't appear anywhere on the article. It appears nowhere on the entire page.
You also didn't bother to post your own source for your bigger number, which I suspect doesn't exist just like your claim here.
Exactly. Because Catholicism dictates that you attend church weekly.
See now I'm starting to doubt that your claims about Russian Orthodox don't care if you go to church or not, because you've clearly been making crap up this whole time. It also contradicts your assertion that church attendance has increased 30 percent since that time, which would mean they do care if you go to church. And this is on top of the complete stupidity of your claim to begin with. The dumb gets dumber.
Not a former KGB agent.
"The man who is now the head of the Russian Orthodox Church, Patriarch Kirill, secretly worked for the KGB under the code name Mikhailov and spent four decades promoting liberation theology, which we at the top of the Eastern European intelligence community nicknamed Christianized Marxism."

Russian Orthodox are supposed to live lives for the flock, not being millionaires. The Prosperity preachers and mega TV guys are frauds too.
