GOP presidential front-runner Donald Trump says he would renegotiate President Obama's Iran nuclear deal should he make his way into the Oval Office.
"If we have to wait until the next president is sworn in to revisit this nuclear weapons agreement, then the next president better be someone who knows how to negotiate and who will do what is best for the United States," Trump wrote in a Tuesday evening op-ed in USA Today.
"When I am elected president, I will renegotiate with Iran right after I enable the immediate release of our American prisoners and ask Congress to impose new sanctions that stop Iran from having the ability to sponsor terrorism around the world," Trump wrote.
"In fact, if I am elected, I am sure the prisoners will be released before my taking office."
Earlier Tuesday, Obama cleared a significant political hurdle by getting enough support by Senate Democrats to block legislation in the Upper Chamber disapproving of his signature accord.
Trump will take part in a rally at the Capitol on Wednesday in opposition to the international accord over Iran's nuclear program, which the Obama administration spent two years negotiating, along with Britain, France, Germany, Russia and China.
Ahead of his speech, GOP rival Jeb Bush's campaign hit Trump over who he would trust to handle Iran's nuclear program, posting footage of Trump praising former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, now the 2016 Democratic presidential front-runner.
Trump, a celebrity real estate tycoon, has previously shied away from vowing to rip up Obama's agreement on his first day in office, as other GOP rivals have suggested they would do, and instead blasted particulars of the deal he argues would benefit the Iranian government.
Trump reiterated that sentiment Tuesday, hitting in his op-ed what he described as "amateur hour" for those in charge of securing the nuclear deal and calling for negotiating from "a position of strength."
"A Trump presidency will force the Iranians back to the bargaining table to make a much better deal," Trump wrote.
"....When Clinton last ran for office, Trump was torn between supporting her and former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani. Theyre both terrific people, and I hope they both get the nomination, he told CNN in 2007, adding that he thought Clinton would surround herself with good people to negotiate a deal with Iran. A year later, Trump wondered publicly why Clinton wasnt chosen as President Obamas running-mate.
In 2012, as Obama was running for re-election, Trump called Clinton terrific again in an interview with Fox News, saying she performed well as Secretary of State...." When Donald Trump Praised Hillary Clinton
But Iran will get $150 BILLION ...way before the 2016 election!
RUSH: The Iran deal. The short version here before we get into it in great detail. It appears -- and for this, I have to rely on people I trust who are extremely well informed on this, honest and objective. According to people I trust -- friends of mine that I know that are deeply, deeply, deeply invested in this story -- there is a way for the Congress, for the Senate to stop the Iran deal, even despite the Corker deal.
In fact, there is a portion of the Corker deal that makes it possible. It can happen, and it doesn't involve the Treaty Clause. It can happen. It involves sanctions. It involves Obama failing to follow his own commitments back in the summer. It's kind of in the weeds, but you know me: I excel at making the complex understandable. [show break]
RUSH: Over the weekend Andy McCarthy says he "offered a concrete plan to undermine President Obama's atrocious Iran deal." It was a column designed to advise members of the Senate how they have at their grasp, in their ability, to stop this deal from happening, and that it's easy. "It is an easy one, because all that the Republican-controlled Congress has to do, if it really wants to derail this [Iranian nuke deal], is follow the law that they wrote and Obama signed, the Corker law -- the Iran Nuclear Agreement Review Act of 2015, sometimes also known as 'Corker-Cardin'..."
“Maybe he can delegate [Trump praises himself for this abilitity] this to Hillary or Kerry”
I’m sure you mean well, but Trump is better off not taking your advice. Hillary will probably be in jail anyway.
I’m not giving him advice, mostly I’m pointing out his leadership style - he’s praised them, he’s knocked them, he may be back to the “praise them” next year; who knows?
Why are your misguided anti-Trump posts always at like 1 or 2am in the morning? What are you doing so late at night frothing at the mouth over Donald Trump?
Thank you for posting these links in your #3.

Iran isn’t interested in negotiation.
Their only interest is in p*ssing on America and Americans. Obama/Kerry enjoyed that sort of fetish play over there.
But he’s certainly welcome to try it.
I’m not up late, I’m up for the start of my day.
Facts are not anti - like it or not - facts are facts.
“Ahead of his speech, GOP rival Jeb Bush’s campaign hit Trump over who he would trust to handle Iran’s nuclear program, posting footage of Trump praising former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, now the 2016 Democratic presidential front-runner.”
How can Jeb Bush criticize anyone for that.
As Chairman of the National Constitution Center, Jeb awarded Hillary Clinton the Liberty Medal, it’s highest award.
Correct. It’s the pot calling the kettle black.
I've got news for you... if the kettle gets harpooned, you're going to get the pot.
That's the reality.
He called the Iran nuclear agreement "a disastrous deal" and "a horrible contract," but said he would work with it.
Many of the 16 other Republicans seeking the party's nomination for the 2016 presidential election have vowed to immediately undo the Obama administration's agreement if they win office. But Trump, a wealthy businessman, reiterated his view that too much money was at stake and his rivals were wrong to say they would rip it up.
"This is the perfect example of taking over a bad contract," he said, adding that he would be tough in enforcing it.
She looks dead now.
Talk about lack of energy!
Jeb gave Hillary the award in 2013.
And here is another one you might not be aware of.
Carly Fiorina was on the board of Vital Voices, a foundation started by Hillary in the 90’s, when they awarded Hillary the Global Trailblazer award in 2009.
The bottom line is that Obama negotiated a non-binding agreement [some details are secret from our representatives] with a terrorist nation [and supporter of terrorism] that is notorious for never keeping agreements [they’ll expect us to] and frees up $150 Billion for terrorist activities against us.
You TEAR THIS UP!
Your idea of facts is as twisted as your love for Walker
And here’s another one you may not be aware of, Donald Trump was a guest honoring Susan Sarandan at the Lincoln Center tribute.
