Column One: A glorious defeat(Netanyahu vs Obama)
Jerusalem Post ^ | Sept. 3, 2015 | Caroline B. Glick

Sometimes you have to fight battles you cannot win because fighting — regardless of the outcome — advances a larger cause.

Israel's fight against the nuclear deal the major powers, led by US President Barack Obama concluded with Iran was such a battle.

-snip-

By fighting Obama's nuclear deal, Israel seeks to advance two larger efforts. First, it uses the battle to expand its capacity to act without the US to prevent Iran from acquiring nuclear weapons. Second, it is shaping its relations with the US both for the duration of Obama's presidency and for the day after he leaves office.

- snip -

By fighting so strenuously against Obama's nuclear deal, Israel improved its ability to carry out a military strike against Iran's nuclear installations in two ways.

First, it removed the most serious domestic obstacle to carrying out such a strike.

-snip-

By making his opposition public, Netanyahu alerted the nation to the dangers.

-snip-

By fighting the deal, Israel has also worked to shape our relations with the US in a favorable way both in the short and long term.

Even before the fight over his nuclear deal began in earnest, Obama made clear that he intends to use his remaining time in office to undermine the US-Israel alliance and to weaken Israel internationally.

-snip-

The fight strengthened American and American-Jewish opposition to the nuclear deal, paving the way for a Democratic renewal after Obama leaves office. And finally, Israel's public battle against Obama's deal paved the way its abrogation by his successor.

All in all, a rather glorious defeat.

Should be required reading before any business day on Capital Hill, when Republicans are in control.

One suspects that when Iran’s nukes start flying, it won’t be so glorious.

OBAMA stepped in “ IT “ with the Iran thing..
Got “it” all over himself.. Cleaning it off won’t be easy either..

Several million people will see that this don’t go away..
A EPOCH Rally is planned soon...

Both Cruz, Trump, Palin, Mark Levin will be throwing tomatoes at Him..
AND Congress, The Supremes, The GOPe.. and of course the democrats (the bastards)..

The RUBES ain’t HAPPY, pitchforks, and torches.. and all that..
Could be just the most beautiful popcorn event of “the season”..

Battle lost, but the war continues...

Something tells me Bibi isn’t done yet.

I’m starting to wonder if most of the “refugees” fleeing the Middle East are fleeing BECAUSE of the “deal” made by Obama and Kerry with the “Death To America” crowd. None of them want to be the glowing and radioactive victims of Obama and Kerry’s “legacy.”

If it hadn’t been for the election of Obama and his numerous Democratic supporters in Congress, Israel and the U.S. would still be strong allies, and Israel wouldn’t be facing the consequences of a dangerous American-led anti-Israel treaty with Iran.

Yet it was Jewish organizations that played a strong role in helping Obama and his Democratic supporters get elected.

So when I received a letter today from the American-Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC) asking for a donation, my thought was that the only way I would contribute would be if AIPAC made a public announcement that it will never support Democrats for office again.

But if AIPAC never supported Democratic candidates again, many of them would lose their elections and the solidly pro-Israel Republicans would replace them, bringing in a new golden age of American-Israel relations — AIPAC’s purported goal — and there would be no need for AIPAC to solicit donations from people like me, or even to remain in existence.

Obama’s treachery will not hurt Israel, for God Himself will protect Israel and will show His power. Obama has heaped condemnation upon America. As the Soviet attack sub XO said to his skipper in Red October, “You arrogant ass! You’ve killed us!”

Thank you for posting the link to Jerusalem Post for this article. I did give credit to that source as shown by JWR.

Question(s): What is the relationship FR has with Jerusalem Post? May its articles be posted in full?

I know you did, but the link stopped addressing that particular article, and I thought the Glorious Defeat article too important for Freepers to miss.
