Home Office says 700 people 'of concern' have travelled to conflict zone
Intelligence agencies claim around half of them are now back in Britain
Ministers warn of plots targeting public events and the armed forces
At least 350 British jihadis are back in the UK after fighting and plotting terror attacks in the ISIS-'braincell' of Syria, the government warned today.
Spy agencies and the police are concerned about as many as 700 people from the UK who have travelled to the region since the start of the conflict, and around half have returned to Britain.
Ministers today warned that there were more jihadis in Syria orchestrating atrocities in the UK, Australia and the United States after it emerged Briton Reyaad Khan was killed in an RAF drone strike.
Police and security agencies have warned of the growing threat posed to Britain from UK nationals who have joined ISIS in Syria and Iraq later returning home to wreak havoc on our streets.
In statement published today, Home Office minister James Brokenshire revealed the scale of the challenge intelligence agencies face.
'He said: 'We are aware of around 700 people from the UK who are of concern to the police and security services and who are thought to have travelled to the region since the start of the conflict.
'We estimate that around half of those have returned.'

And the people who (30 years ago) demanded multiculturalism and changed “hey hey, ho ho, western civ has got to go” are today NOWHERE TO BE FOUND.

I would be surprised if Britain has not already passed legislation making it illegal to fight for ISIS, so that anyone identified on return could be arrested. If this is not yet a law in Britain or Canada which faces a similar situation (and America if you do, have only heard of one or two such cases though) then it should very soon be passed into law and implemented.
And the sentence should be harsh. While it would be difficult to demonstrate outright treason in the case of participants, it is a slam dunk if they return to home base because one could then assume that they intended to spread the ISIS conflict to home base and that would be treason, an armed insurrection against the state.
350 out of 700? That’s almost half...
As many of the returned riot and murder in the streets many others will, no doubt, run for Parliament ...
