In Harris County, Texas, where Deputy Darren Goforth was recently killed execution style while he was pumping gas into his patrol car, a teenagers act of kindness has gone viral.
Early Thursday morning Deputy Constable Tommi Jones Kelley was pumping gas into her patrol car when a teen walked up to her and said, maam, do you mind if I stand here behind you while u [sic] get ur [sic] gas? Kelley explained on Facebook. My initial response was and why?
his reply, to make sure You [sic] stay safe!"

Great kid but sad commentary on our society.
Totally cool!
I thought so too
It is indeed
Nice story and it highlights why you should carry a firearm. Often. If the police aren’t safe, what does it say about your chances?
stuff this heartwarming is pretty rare...may this mark the beginning of a trend of sorts!!
Wow that was quick :)
I agree
Was it anti-police?
My letter to Governor Greg Abbott following the Goforth assassination:
I recommend that you request all Texas CHL-holders to carry their weapons every day, where permissible, until this crime wave against law enforcement officers is remedied. You’ll not be authorizing or deputizing them to become involved with or intervene in police matters, but rather asking them to maintain security vigilance for Officers when they are encountered - particularly at traffic stops and other scenes and localities where they might be exposed to foreseeable threats.
Asking the 700,000+ CHL-holders in Texas to provide passive, but protective civilian surveillance to cover their “6’s” would serve as an effective warning to those who might harbor criminal intentions. And besides, it would be the Texas thing to do.
It’s occurred to me that the 0bama admin is using this (via NBP/ NOI/ BLM) as a strategy to try & get law enforcement on board with ‘’gun control’’. It needs to backfire.
I like your idea!
I think so.
Was the teen armed? If not, how was she going to protect the deputy? What was the statistical probability that the deputy would have been attacked while pumping gas?
This is a typical example of a feeeeeel good story that America likes to drool over’
It doesn’t show, or doesn’t say, besides I don’t know if teenagers can even carry guns or not. I know they are adults when they turn 18 but they are still teenagers at 19
Teen don’t have to be armed he was just standing behind the officer while pumping gas teen has eyes and a mouth to warn the officer of anything strange going on behind them that’s all
The teen was a he, not a she and this is from the deputy's own Facebook page
Ok, so EARLY this morning I was pumping gas in my patrol car (reason I look like a Hot Mess!)...& add it was pouring rain... When this teenager I've never met before is standing right behind me & says, "ma'am, do u mind if I stand here behind you while u get ur gas?" My initial response was "and why?"... His reply, "to make sure You stay safe!" Finished pumping my gas & he was still standing there, in the rain 💙 👮 😕. He then just walked off & started to get into the passenger side of a car & I asked the driver if she was his Mom & indeed she was. I told her she has an amazing son & she said he wanted to make sure no one hurt me. Yes, I'm the one with the gun on my hip while he stood there empty handed, but he for sure had my "6" while my back was turned.
With all the terror going on nationwide, this reassured me there are still some pretty awesome individuals out there! Thank you for ur concernMckinley Zoellnerner.
