WELLFLEET, Mass. —A great white shark died Sunday after beaching itself in Wellfleet.

Beachgoers tried to save the shark by pouring sea water on it. Photos show beachgoers throwing buckets of sea water onto the shark and building a stream in the sand.
It is unclear how the shark beached itself.
On July 13, a shark beached itself off the coast of Chatham. The shark was saved by beachgoers pouring sea water on it until it was towed out to sea by officials.

Is it just me, or is this article evidence of brain damage? Did the shark die, or was it saved? If they kept it alive until towed, did it then subsequently die? Maybe the video explains it more clearly, but this makes the writer look like an idiot. Why would I want to watch a video made by illiterates?

I watched the news coverage of this....a bunch of misguided do-gooders. Healthy fish do not beach themselves.

Video report on another news outlet noted that hundreds of people formed bucket brigades to carry sea water up to the fish, dug a trench to the ocean and dragged it back to the sea where a boat towed it out open water where it died.
Did I say hundreds of people got caught up in this. Did I say this was Massachusetts.
I am absolutely stunned the article didn’t manage to squeeze in the obligatory line on Climate Change being the possible reason the shark beached itself...
