John Boehner’s Worst Nightmare: Mark Meadows Launches Mission to Fix Broken Congress

MORGANTON, North Carolina — Speaker Rep. John Boehner’s worst nightmare is on the rise here in rural North Carolina. Rep. Mark Meadows (R-NC) is gaining steam as a clearly coordinated, highly orchestrated effort to remove Boehner as Speaker of the United States House of Representatives—and fix a broken Congress that no longer represents the wishes of the American people—comes into much clearer focus.

Meadows invited Breitbart News to accompany him on a district visit, and the concerns he discussed with his constituents offer a microcosm of the issues America wants Congress to address. Everyone here agrees: John Boehner needs to go as Speaker of the House, and Mark Meadows is doing something about that.

Unlike some others from the more conservative side of the House GOP conference, Meadows is calm, cool and collected. He doesn’t make headline-grabbing comments, and is a serious, well-connected and well-respected member of the conference. Despite clear efforts by leadership—Boehner’s office and its allies, including Chief Deputy Whip Rep. Patrick McHenry (R-NC) who represents the district bordering Meadows’ here—to isolate him, Meadows’ credibility in the House GOP conference only seems to grow by the minute thanks to his steady demeanor and well-intentioned aim to steer Congress back onto a track that more effectively represents America’s views in Washington.

I continue to say Cantor was the ‘canary in the coal mine’ - the GOPe just don’t believe what’s coming next election.

I don’t think he would cry then, I think he would get mean.

How come Newt was the only one worth a damn?

You have to be a little bit of a perv to ascend to that position. They have to have something pretty serious to hold over you before they relinquish that much power. Dennis Hastert liked little boys, Newt liked Girls, Livingston did too. Who knows what the drunk likes besides power.

OH-8 needs to follow the example we set in VA-7 and Cantorize Boehner.

Send Boehner a couple cases of Wild Turkey and he’ll drink himself into oblivion.

Someone did, and he already has.

Why, indeed, would the Democrats want Boehner removed? He’s one of them.

“I’ll believe it when I seem him balling as he heads out of the Chamber.”

If he’s “balling” leaving the chamber someone better hose him down or throw a blanket over him. I think you meant to say “bawling.” Perish the thought that he would be able to “ball” anyone.

Mark Meadows is my Congressman, and he is the Gold Standard. He is smart, principled, and apparently is a strong Christian. He is also fearless and I think he has the people of Western North Carolina behind him.

We need men like him in Washington - not the Boehners and McConnells of this world.

When the Conference met after the election to choose the GOP nominee for Speaker, crickets were the only ones who objected to Boehner, no one challenged him.

A few protest votes on the House floor in January. Complaints in September. But December 2014 when the choice was actually made, nothing.
