Burton Gilliam, of East Dallas and ‘Blazing Saddles,’ joins fight to save the Lakewood
Dallas Morning News ^ | 09/05/2015 | Robert Wilonsky

If you’re on the fence about attending Tuesday’s Landmark Commission meeting during which they’ll discuss the fate of the maybe-maybe-not imperiled Lakewood Theater, perhaps this’ll get you there: Burton Gilliam will be sitting in the audience. So, if nothing else, you can say you attended the same Dallas City Hall meeting as the actor who appeared in Blazing Saddles, Fletch, Paper Moon, Honeymoon in Vegas, those Rodeo Ford ads and … well, the list goes on and on.

This will be Gilliam’s first-ever city-government meeting in his hometown.

“So this’ll be kinda fun,” says the 1956 Woodrow Wilson High School graduate. “I am new at this stuff. It’ll be fun to watch people who really do go all the time — and there are people who really do go all the time — to see how they do things.”

The name, I didn’t know from Adam, but the face and attitude; classic Cowboy, not giving a damn, I recognized immediately. If you put Charles Bronson’s face and head on a lanky Clint Eastwood type build, you would have him as a young character actor.

All this destruction of history and uniqueness is to make everything exactly the same-—classic Communism-—for the children (to control everything they can know and see for the NWO to create a “collective” (no individuality or uniqueness (Christianity))-—making children interchangeable cogs in the wheel. No meaning, no purpose, no memories/nostalgia/beauty/creativity.

It is necessary to control all Words, all ideas, all history in “collectives” so that the State has complete power to control individuals-—all their proper emotions, attitudes and “knowledge”.

First thing Communists do-—control “Law” (make it into a vice (cartel) system by bribing justices (Carnegie/Morgan/Rockefeller) and remove God from Rule of Law so it is Rule of Man (Stalin’s Constitution). And control ALL information-—(destroy the Natural Family (all uniqueness and individuality and Natural instincts in children ) /all biological connections—promote hate and division (no-fault divorce was Lenin’s idea for destabilization), etc.

We are almost there with the Leviathan. The “System” of unconstitutional laws and agencies are in place——making literal slaves of our children and removing them from parents and putting them into mandatory indoctrination factories and mandatory injections of known toxins (the Prussian system of mass indoctrination and no individualism/Free Will exactly which produced the Hitler Youth).

I used to work at the Lakewood Theater, in Lakewood, CA, on Carson @ Lakewood, in the late ‘60s while in college. But it’s already long-gone.

So, THAT’S his name. Several weeks ago DH and I searched for the name as it appears he is now doing a similar auto sales ad for a dealer in Oklahoma. Blazing Saddles certainly had a good many actors listed in its credits so the name was never recognized as being ‘the one’

What’s funny about that movie is that everybody had perfect teeth. As a boy watching this movie, I’m thinking they had very good dentists in the Old Wild West.

Surprised any of those old theaters are still standing they are cramped and outdated. The Casa Linda, Inwood, Lakewood, Arcadia cool old buildings but not suitable for modern cinemagoers. Left DFW in 95 so I bet a lot has changed since then.

Blazing Saddles was not the first movie that Gilliam was in with Cleavon Little. Remember Vanishing Point? One of my favorite car movies.

I am a “76” graduate of Woodrow Wilson High and used to go the Lakewood religiously. They had Sensurround for Charlton Heston in “Earthquake”.

The great car movie where the message is taking excessive amounts of speed with driving at excessive speed, the challenger becomes a camaro when it hits parked dozers.

That’s one interpretation anyway

I have the soundtrack CD and its good highway music sometimes.
