Renewed calls for gun control laws spur sales

Newly released August records show that the FBI posted 1.7 million background checks required of gun purchasers at federally licensed dealers, the highest number recorded in any August since gun checks began in 1998. The numbers follow new monthly highs for June (1.5 million) and July (1.6 million), a period which spans a series of deadly gun attacks — from Charleston to Roanoke — and proposals for additional firearm legislation.

While the FBI does not track actual gun sales, as multiple firearms can be included in a transaction by a single buyer, the National Instant Criminal Background Check System's numbers are an indicator of a market upswing in the face of growing anxiety about access to guns.

Look at the invasion that is happening in Europe and ask yourself if you want to be sitting here without a gun waiting for this administration to protect your family

“Virginia Del. Patrick Hope, a Democratic member of the state Assembly who proposed an expansion of background checks following last month’s shooting deaths of two journalists near Roanoke, said the stockpiling of weapons represented an “over-reaction.’’

“We’re not at all threatening any one’s ability to get a gun,’’ Hope said. “What we’re talking about here is COMMON SENSE LEGISLATION. I don’t think any one is threatened by background checks.’’

I don’t know about you folks, but my sphincter tightens when any politician ( and most especially a RAT) uses the words COMMON SENSE LEGISLATION!

Because they wouldn’t know common sense if someone smacked them in the face with a sock full of it? :>}

I don’t think any one is threatened by background checks.

The latest group of killers had background checks. They are just using this as an excuse to expand background checks to private sales or gifts. They want a record of where every gun is located, because the end goal is confiscation.

The only "common sense" part of it is that when politicians pass feel-good legislation, it relieves them from the need to actually do something to fix the problem. Thus we have volumes of stupid and ineffective laws that only complicate people's lives. The problem is that the Community Mental Health Act of 1963 gave us streets full of bat**** crazy people who are potentially harmful to others and to themselves.

Believing that banning pistol grips from rifles and banning ammunition magazines that hold more than 10 rounds will solve the problem -- the problem that politicians caused in the first place 52 years ago -- is bat**** crazy by itself.

It wasn’t that long ago that gun owners were a relatively small voting block, but with a big voice (and single issue).

Now, thanks to the Dems, none of that has changed, except gun owners are now a BIG voting block.

Hopefully we’ll be big enough to overcome bloomie and his minions and all their cash in the ‘16 NV ballot initiative for intergalactic background checks. Not really counting on the pro gun groups to do much in gun owners defense. Outspent 10 to 1 by bloomie alone in the WA ubc initiative. But, since it will put an end to ALL ‘illegal’ guns, and ‘gun violence’, and close the ‘gun show loophole’, and bring a total end to all ‘domestic violence’, won’t it be worth it? Uh, no. It won’t do any of the things they sold the petition on.

“the end goal is confiscation” ........ If that is not true, (as they claim) then why do they always say the same thing after a new “gun control” law is passed? “This legislation is a good start.”

I was at the Tanner Gun Show in Loveland Colorado this morning and it was PACKED. Two building full of everything you need. I even saw to homies with their pants hanging off of their skinny asses wandering around looking distinctly uncomfortable what with all the honkies open carrying.

I also saw a black guy selling ammo with a large Confederate flag hanging from his table. Now that was some cognitive dissonance right there.

The Ho’s Demand Action are trying to put a Nevada-style “background check” bill on the ballot here in Maine in November 2016.

They need 61,000 signatures. It’s spear-headed by a woman in Portland, Maine whose 25 year old daughter was killed in a home invasion in Portland, ME by a criminal with a firearm. Like “universal background checks” would have saved her.

It’s been said that it will be an uphill battle for the nanny bloomers here in Maine, because Maine is Second Amendment country. Constitutional Carry goes into effect next month. No permit will be necessary to carry a firearm in your vehicle or on your person. We already have Open Carry. Firearm ownership here in Maine is as common as sand in the Sahara.

The idiot police chief in Bucksport, Maine, a small coastal town, supports the mommie/commie gun grabbers. He complains about “online sales” and the “gun show loophole,” both of which are an absurd argument and a lie.

Thanks to the ignolibs in vegas, the momunists and bloomunists managed to get twice the required signatures on the petition. I encountered a couple of the “gatherers” and could hardly contain myself due to the BS spiel they were using to get, mostly ladies, to sign up. One also had another petition which purported to be to “tax and regulate” marijuana in NV. Implied “medicinal” but basically sets up stores for recreational use. Like there aren’t enough mind numbed folks from Dumbassistan already. Sheesh. Only one sheriff supports the ubc and that is the one from Clark county which is Vegas. Not only that, the ultra lib gannett owned reno gazette urinal said the ubc is NOT a good plan. WHAT!

You’d think the gun grabbers would finally learn their lesson - all their incessant calls for the destruction of our civil rights after every ‘crisis’ becomes so much background noise that only serves to sell MORE GUNS! LOL!

They ought to take a break some time and wait a few crisis and then clamor for that ‘national conversation’ about guns..

The left always likes to hide registration in the laws they propose. They could care less about background checks what they really want is registration. Like you said registration leads to confiscation.
