SALEM RADIO NETWORK host HUGH HEWITT's tough questioning of guest DONALD TRUMP, and TRUMPs subsequent insults thrown at HEWITT, have earned the veteran radio talker a lengthy profile in the WASHINGTON POST.
The POST's examination of HEWITT, whose probing of TRUMP on foreign policy issues exposed the candidate's uncertainty and drew a lambasting from TRUMP as a "third-rate announcer," notes that despite HEWITT's open conservatism and Republican Party ties, he "has a reputation for facilitating rich and respectful on-air conversations with guests whose own political loyalties lie far afield from his own" and has close ties with powerful figures across the ideological and political spectrum, a Reaganite who also counts President BILL CLINTON's former communications director MARK GEARAN (HEWITT's HARVARD roommate) and ANNE GUST, a MICHIGAN LAW SCHOOL classmate who is married to CALIFORNIA Governor JERRY BROWN, as friends.

ANYONE can make themselves look smart and someone else look stupid by quickly looking up some information on the internet that no normal person would know and then ask questions to someone else to try and make them look like they are stupid.
I can guarantee you Hewitt didn’t know 1 month ago that those groups even existed, much less some obscure general no one has ever heard of or cares about.
The whole interview was a setup to try and make Trump look like he doesn’t know what he is doing. But all it accomplished was to expose Hewitt as on the payroll of the GOPe.

Awaaaaay back when, when Henry Ford was riding high and rolling in dough with is Ford Motor Co., some sorea$$ed anti-capitalist dweebs from academe got Henry to do an interview, with the intent to make him look stupid.
So they asked him really assinine gotcha questions, such as, “What’s the highest peak in the Andes Mountains, and its elevation?” Of course, Ford couldn’t give the answer. After one or two more, Ford quit, but he left the bastards off in a much more gentlemanly fashion than I would have. Ford said, “I do not carry such information around in my head. Why should I? IF at any time I should NEED such information, I can quickly and easily look it up.”
The question comes to my beady little mind; What sort of twisted heart and soul and spirit must an individual such as Hewitt, or Muggin Kelly, or Mike or Chris Wallace, or even Brett Baier have, for that matter, to sit down and connive and scheme for some trap by which to besmirch someone else’s standings? To me, it’s lower than whale dung. If any of these individuals of qustionable birth were “equal opportunity” tricksters, it would not be QUITE as egregious. But every one of them are selective mudslingers. IMHO.
Maybe I’m giving Trump too much credit here, maybe not.
Maybe Trump went on Hewitt’s show to see if he Hewitt would show his hand as biased against him. This would tie Hewitt’s hands somewhat during the debate, or at least give him ammunition in the event that Hewitt tries to pull off a Megyn Kelly.
In any event, I don’t think the interview went bad for Trump. Reading a name and hearing it spoken later can be confusing. Fiorina didn’t do much better, but listening to the media you would think she nailed it and he did horrible.
Hewitt also wants a fence built before all and anything else. He's center-right, in favor of winning the WH. Not anti-Trump. FYI, I'm a Trump/Cruz fan, but have heard Hewitt for 15 years. He's on our TP side 90 % of the time.
