The question of Trump's honesty is something that cannot be swept under the rug, no matter how angry you are at the current situation.

Trump's ease with lying was the reason I wrote this yesterday.

Extreme Optimists see everything in their life as the most phenomenal. I’ve known a few and while they are bragging about, say, their husband and all his many abilities, you’re seeing something much less impressive.

However, the high-energy, high-achieving optimist can make a great leader. They see success and the best possible outcome around the corner. This is why Trump says he thought Obama would be a “good cheerleader for the country.” Cheerleading, or inspiring, is the mark of the best kind of leader. Think Churchill. Think Reagan.

You wrote it because you’re on an anti-Trump jihad, while accusing everyone of lying whenever we point out Walker’s pathetic weakness of immigration.

It can’t be swept under the rug? Because I’m hearing a lot of furious sweepong, and the rug is getting plenty lumpy.

“I was given the biggest award by the Marines the other day, one of the biggest civilian awards by the Marines the other day.”

You don't get what he is doing. The organization membership and leadership is made of retired marines. Trump didn't say as the article author distorts it:

"it was convenient for him to mistake a private organization not affiliated with the military for the U.S. Marine Corps."

Were this "journalist" to attack him with this at an interview, Trump would have made fool out of him for misquoting him and making things up.

If you pay some attention, you will notice that Trump sets these kinds of traps and snares for the half-witted attackers all the time and routinely makes fools of them. The half-wits mistake his folksy style with thoughtless rambling, when in fact it is all very carefully thought out chess-like strategy that works out several moves ahead before making a step.

Watch for example what he he did here to Larry King on live TV -- he ensnared Larry, even though he explained to him few minutes earlier how to do it. He also explained it again to MSNBC in the recent phone interview here (at 12:40 into the segment).

He is just way too smart for the rest of the field and especially for "journalists" (his IQ must be 180+). That's why he is doing so well, or why he is so wealthy in the first place. Yet he is also ethical fellow, wealthy the old-fashioned way, by building worthy stuff, not by swindling people.

I think we could use surely president like that this time.

Let me add: If you haven’t had this type in your life, it’s probably because you are a low-energy person. Trump mentions this type with contempt because these types want to be surrounded by energy and excitement. They will not gravitate to low-energy non-achievers.

Just because of you Scott Walker will be the last person I'd vote for. Congratulations.

He compares unfavorably but in many ways to Obama, and strangely his supporters act a lot like Obama supporters. The leader is never wrong. The leader can hold and advocate contradictory opinions without the followers questioning or accepting that others might question the contradictions. The leader doesn’t need to know details or facts, others will take care of that, because the leader is the best decision maker and needn’t have any real knowledge of the subject. The leader should display a vanity that is the hallmark of narcissist and all American should fawn over the leader. Those who point these problems out are to have their motives questioned and are insulted.

It appears that I was correct in saying that Trump is the reason Republicans can no longer boast about the stupidity of Demorats and other people voting for Obama.

He can’t maintain the mask forever... and once it drops there will be a lot of angry, disillusioned former Trumpers. Thing is,they are so emotionally invested once Trump falls, I kinda doubt they would get out and support any candidate, not even Cruz.

I don’t listen to every minute of Rush but I get 98% or so. If you are referring to what I believe you are you are unfairly mis characterizing what Rush did say. For a longtime FReeper you should not. He makes a point of never endorsing candidates. Only the nominee. Even McCain, whom he had gaffed for years. He did point out the irony of the folks who have told us to hold our noses for decades. They never expected to be told to hold their nose.

The GOPee has abused us repeatedly. I suppose that is the appeal. Think of an abused wife. The guy she once loved has turned into a monster. Repeatedly abusing her. The sympathetic guy next door steps up. She accepts his protection, perhaps, not because she loves the neighbor, he may not even be her “type” but he is willing to get between her and another black eye, or worse.

I think that is the perspective one needs take on Trump. Like I posted yesterday, I see Trump more as a way of extorting the GOPee. Sort of, “Get behind Cruz or we are gonna ram Trump up your ...”

I do not trust Donald Trump, but there is no doubt in my mind he would be an improvement over our current president.

Would such a man really be an improvement on the current president?

Still firmly pro-Cruz but anyone who answers the question with a negative needs to have their meds adjusted....

For geherty to even pose this question, proves, beyond the shadow of a doubt, that he hates Trump and is an asshole.

NRO is pretty much unhinged Trump hate central. Taking NRO articles about Trump as unbiased is kind of like reading articles from Salon to form an opinion of Walker.

Is Geraghty on Trump’s facebook page and Twitter feed?

Thousands of comments every day

How about the 20,000 at the Alabama stadium rally alone? Were they there to show Trump he is wrong?

Boy this is another article that defies logic

If someone can answer this and not say yes that any republican candidate would be better than the occupier of the White House then they did not vote the last time for AMERICA - they voted against her, or chose NOT to vote which was voting against America.

There’s a bigger picture here than the person running for office.

When you get out of the weeds you can see where you are going!
