Washington (CNN)David Axelrod, who was instrumental in electing President Barack Obama to the White House twice, will be joining CNN as a senior political commentator starting Friday.

"An all-around respected, well-connected commentator on the American political scene, we are delighted to have David join us and look forward to him sharing his political analysis with our global audience," CNN Washington Bureau Chief Sam Feist said in a statement Thursday morning.

Sidney Blumenthal urged Hillary Clinton to get the White House to “rein” in David Axelrod back in 2010.

In an email released by the State Department Monday night, longtime Clinton confidant Blumenthal reached out to the then-secretary of state to implore her to get the White House to stop President Barack Obama’s political mastermind, who was then officially serving in the White House as his senior advisor, from acting as a spokesman for the administration’s foreign policy.

“Here’s one small but frank thing: Axelrod should not be a foreign policy spokesman on any issue or area. He has badly exacerbated this one,” Blumenthal wrote to Clinton in March 2010, attaching an article criticizing the White House for sending Axelrod on the Sunday political talk shows to condemn what the administration perceived as illegal Israeli settlement building.

“Many people in the press feel he’s out of his lane and resent being lectured by him on foreq..3n policy [sic],” Blumenthal continued. “Foreign Policy magazine website has run a piece on this, reflecting widespread sentiment. (I’ve enclosed this article bellow the TNR one below.)”

“I’d make Steinberg tell Donilon they need to rein in Axelrod,” he went on, presumably referring to then-Deputy Secretary of State James Steinberg and Tom Donilon, who was then deputy national security advisor and would later become national security advisor. “Axelrod has enough to do fixing the domestic messes he’s made. Let it come from Steinberg. He’s unhappy anyway.”

Then Rahm announced he had magically "raised" $30 million for his campaign in "just a matter of weeks." (waiting for hysterical laughter to die down).

BACKSTORY---THE KINGPINS OF CHICAGO CRIMINAL POLITICS IN OUR WH wasted no time.....they had a stranglehold on the Census, AND the US Treasury, from day one.

The minute Obama/Valerie/Rahm/Axelrod/Geithner, and that Practiced bunch of Chicago criminals, landed in the WH they did two things that were apparently crucial to their evil plans

(a) they took control of the US Census;

(b) Obama placed his COS Rahm Emanuel in control of the US Dept of the Treasury (cabinet-level agency oversees IRS).

THE SMOKING GUN---WSJ REPORT--On Jan 20, 2009 Timothy Geithner was appointed Obama's Secy of the Treasury. But within three weeks, the Obama White House tightened its grip on Treasury. Obama put his COS, Rahm Emanuel, in charge of Treasury---Rahm Emanuel's dual role was an unusual move.

When he got to Treasury, WH COS Rahm Emanuel was so involved in the inner workings of the Treasury that the phrase "Rahm wants it" had become an unofficial mantra among subservient govt staffers, prostrate in obeisance, scurrying to accede to Rahm's wishes, according to Treasury government officials. At the time he was Obama's WH advisor (and chief political strategist), David Axelrod said he was unaware Hillary conducted official State Dept business from an unauthorized, private server. But emails released Tuesday evening by the State Dept include his request for Hillary's private email address--and suggest he had every reason to know and raises questions about what else he knew.

Asked last month in an interview whether he knew anything about Clinton's "homebrew" system when they worked together in the Obama administration, Axelrod responded, "I didn't know."

However, correspondences from 2009 show that Axelrod may have had reason to know about Clinton's questionable email behavior. While it's possible Axelrod may not have been aware that Clinton was using a private server, he contacted her at least once with a "get better" note at one of her private email addresses.

Evidence begins with an email from Clinton's chief of staff, Cheryl Mills, dated June 8, 2009: "Axelrod wants your email – remind me to discuss with you if I forget," Mills wrote. Clinton responded that same day, writing, "Can you send to him or do you want me to? Does he know I can't look at it all day so he needs to contact me thru you or Huma or Lauren during work hours."

Axelrod served as President Obama's senior adviser from 2009 to 2011. Clinton worked at the State Department from 2009 to 2013. During the entire time that she served at Foggy Bottom, she never once sent an official email bearing the standard @state.gov address.

Rather, she used a variety personalized email addresses, including hdr22@clintonemail.com and hrod17@clintonemail.com

Axelrod said in June that he would've have "asked questions" had he known about Clinton's questionable email behavior. "I was there, I was the senior adviser. I didn't know that," Axelrod said in an interview on MSNBC, referring specifically to her private server. "I might have asked a few questions about it."

NOTE: An AP report says senior Obama administration officials, including the White House chief of staff, knew as early as 2009 that Hillary Rodham Clinton was using a private email address for her government correspondence, according to some 3,000 pages of correspondence released by the State Department late Tuesday night.
