At this point, I think Jeb is out. He might come in second in Florida’s primary, and get third-place out of five states, but his primary election is over. I see three or four people getting one or two states each, and Trump carrying the remainder. The convention will be mostly about the super-delegates and they play their game.
They probably wasted a thousand man-hours playing out analysis and polls to figure the GOP loyalty pledge gimmick, and Trump simply said sure....because he knows he’s got forty states in the bag now.

That’s exactly what it is. A rather clumbsy attempt to try to get control over the Trump threat to the GOP status quo. They desperately want to control him and this is the first step toward doing that, but it won’t work.
Under a fair and open party system one would think he’s out. But party leadership and Congressional leadership and PAC money hasn’t deserted him yet.
For that to happen, they’d have to get somebody on scene who is a known quantity - a Mitt-like statesman with a proven losing track record.
The bottom line is the GOPe doesn’t mind losing to a rabid Democrat, they all say “my good friend(insert, Barack, Hillary, Sanders, Beelzebub here - whatever works.) The IMPERATIVE is that they cannot allow a conservative to get the nomination that would upset the DC country club.
