On August 6th, in front of a national audience, Donald Trump refused to pledge support for any GOP candidate, and refused to pledge he would not run an independent campaign. In my opinion, it was the most publicly brave political act witnessed in the last two decades.
It takes remarkable courage and commitment to principle to stand on the national stage and be the only person to raise your hand. It would have been easier, more politically favorable, and essentially irrelevant in the long term, for Trump to make the pledge. But he didnt, he took the path of principle. For many, myself included, that moment won Donald Trump the debate.
However, there is now an establishment movement within the GOP to force Republican candidates to sign a loyalty oath. A report surfaces today that RNC Chair Reince Priebus is meeting with Donald Trump tomorrow at 2pm in New York. The presumption is that Donald will be asked to take this pledge:

Washington (CNN) Donald Trump will meet with Republican Party chairman Reince Priebus Thursday in New York City, one day after party officials began circulating a loyalty pledge that looked squarely aimed at the Republican front-runner.
Trump spokeswoman Hope Hicks confirmed the meeting to CNN. Trump also announced that he will have a 2 p.m. news conference at Trump Towers Thursday.
The Republican National Committee had quietly circulated a loyalty pledge to the Republican presidential candidates, requesting they affirm their allegiance to the party.
CNN received a copy of the pledge as outlined above.
I wonder who gave it to them, and what was the motivation for their publication.? Interestingly, and perhaps related:
♦ the RNC was much more involved in getting Carly Fiorina onto the stage than initially outlined. ♦ Jeb Bush took today off, and ♦ John Kasich is reported to be #2 now in the New Hampshire state poll and being quietly coached along ..
Just a reminder, this is an insurgency.
The modern enemy of Wall Street is Main Street vulgarians.
The enemy of the RNC/GOPe is not Democrats, its Grassroots Conservatives, more vulgarians.
The Republican Party, and the Republican media apparatus, view us as their enemy. We are the enemy they need to protect themselves from:
In 2014, the RNC approved selection rules that govern how each states delegates are portioned out from the primaries. Under one of the changes, states holding their primaries between March 1 and March 14 will have their delegates doled out proportionately with election results, a change that will likely stymie a movement candidate.
States that have primaries on or after March 15 will be winner-take-all states.
Thats important because another RNC rule change requires that a candidate must win a majority of delegates in eight or more states before his or her name may be presented for nomination at the 2016 Republican National Convention.
With 18 GOP presidential candidates, for now, it will be that much harder for any candidate to win a majority in any state, let alone eight. (Article July 2015)
GOP-versus-Tea-PartyNow, ask yourself, why would the RNC want to stymie a movement candidate? Who exactly does that benefit? Obviously, the non-movement candidate, ie the turtle.
Isnt the entire reason for campaigning in Iowa, New Hampshire, South Carolina etc. to make a movement/momentum?
In addition Rule #40 changed in 2014 from previously five needed state wins, to a newer threshold of eight (8):
Officially, its Rule 40 in the RNC handbook and it states that any candidate for president shall demonstrate the support of a majority of the delegates from each of eight (8) or more states before their name is presented for nomination at the national convention. (article March 2014)
Again, ask yourself who does this benefit? A candidate can win seven states outright, and still not have their name presented for nomination?
These rules were made/affirmed in 2014 Who or what exactly was the GOP concerned about blocking in 2016 that would necessitate such rules? When combined with other rule changes you can clearly identify a consolidation of power within the RNC apparatus intentionally constructed to stop the candidate of the GRASSROOTS from achieving victory.
Its all part of their GOPe Roadmap:

Sundance is saying the RNC had a lot more to do with Fiorina's entry into the top-tier debate than previously understood (of course).
Prayers for Trump today. For wisdom and grace.
Gospel According to Me:
RNC rewrites rules to ensure ¡Yeb! is the nominee;
¡Yeb! takes a dive, and Bill Clinton’s third term begins.
All their little rules are pretty much meaningless at this point. Trump is ahead in EVERY state and EVERY poll, save one in OH and an older poll in IA, since superseded. Other than OH, I can’t find any state poll where Trump isn’t ahead, usually very big.
Wait, WI. Trump is behind Walker in WI and Kasich in OH, ahead of Rubio and Bush in FL, and ahead of Cruz in TX.
You are essential correct except Walker is ahead in WI in a poll last week.
Rinse Fleabait better behave himself.
To my understanding, the rules were changed in reaction to Ron Paul and the delegate fiasco last time. I don’t necessarily agree with the new rules, and I think there wasn’t some grand secret conspiracy behind it.
Pledges are stupid. Reince Priebus should shower Trump with rose petals for all the new GOP voter registrations Trump generated. These new Republicans joined the party for strong enforcement of immigration laws (and reversing the bad ones, I hope).
Trump expanded the conservative base for the early caucus states as well. People who never participated in a caucus are now excited for their first one.
If the GOP thinks this is bad, then the party needs to dissolve because that’s honestly the dumbest thing ever.
Reince Priebus Should be begging Trump not to run 3rd party. Trump holds the cards here. He’s the front runner. He holds the Trump card.
What would be nice is, if Trump wins GOP primary, the tea party runs a conservative against him. let Trump and Dem split the left/rhino vote and Conservatives can win
He’s the master of the deal. He’ll twist Rinse into a pretzel.
Contracts, which this is most likely what this comes down to, is where Trump shines.
He and Priebus will come out laughing, smiling, and shaking hands.
Everything will look great, until Priebus turns to walk to his car.
Then everyone will see the knife in Priebus’s back as he staggers to his car!
Prince Rebus will is sing his decree...
Stupid auto”correct”...
I’ll try again:
Prince Rebus will be issuing his decree...
it is wise to remember that Trump is the deal maker
he is now in a position to request that the RNC pledge not to oppose in any manner his presidential candidacy in return for his pledge not to run as an independent candidate
or some such
Printed Signature blocks for Reince Priebus, Chairman, RNC,
and each remaining eligible Republican Candidate.
Which of them would sign?
The new rules are in place because of Ron Paul. The RNC worried about Rand, and had no idea Trump would be in this position. Rince Fleabait is scared to death of disruption of the idea of hundreds of Trump supporters showing up in Iowa, and not being able to vote for Trump over a piece of paper. He and CNN are worried about the problem if Trump is excluded and no one watches the debate in two weeks. There may be others who also won’t participate if Trump is excluded. Fleabait is backed into a corner.
If Trump does not sign, the Gope will use every dirty trick in the book to defeat him.
If Trump signs, the Gope will use every dirty trick in the book to defeat him.
Trump has his own pledge Fleabait has to sign along with Jebby and Linseed. I think most of the others would sign. Don’t know about Rand.
I think the above is what you have in mind? I like this.
