I don’t think this spike in violent crime is just caused by police pulling back (which most politicians eventually realize just kills their own careers); I think as the Republican race gets more and more coverage, many blacks realize that their boy will be gone soon and they have nothing to show for it but broken dreams and faded bumper stickers. They’ve lost a lot in this economy, in which people little more educated than farm animals simply have no role.

Several years back, the New York Times could not figure out why there were so many people in prison, since the crime rate had dropped so much. They wanted to let the criminals out, of course. Under Obama, they are succeeding.

Cities across the nation are seeing a startling rise in murders after years of declines, and few places have witnessed a shift as precipitous as this city. With the summer not yet over, 104 people have been killed this year — after 86 homicides in all of 2014.
Huh? There have been a few hundred murders a year in NYC since Giuliani, dropping from 2200 under Dinkins.
