Pat Buchanan puts the horse before the cart
Vanity | 8/31/2015 | Charles O'Connell

Patrick Buchanan is usually a great writer. He must have had Scrooge's indigestion when he was writing today about the consequences to the GOP of impotently voting against Obama's Iran Deal…he thinks their veto response will demonstrate whether or not the Repubs can govern.

"You may be an undigested bit of beef, a blot of mustard, a crumb of cheese, a fragment of an underdone potato. There’s more of gravy than of grave about you, whatever you are!" Charles Dickens, "Christmas Carol"

Buchanan goes off on a tangent about Nixon in China after the ChiComs had killed so many Yanks in Korea. You have to read to the end to get to his point.

Was it how can the Repubs deal with Iran, or how can they govern the US?

Pat has written better pieces.

Too much information. Summarize at the beginning of your piece, you'll organize your thoughts much better for your own benefit, and tell a much more interesting story.

Pat is licking his chops at the thought of Iran nuking Israel and killing six million more Jews (a second holocaust that Pat can also deny). What makes the smug antiSemite think Iran will just nuke Israel or even nuke Israel and not the U.S. instead.

Look at this picture in Iran:

Notice that the Israel eggshell is still falling and the U.S. eggshell is smashed to the ground. Iran has taken the mettle of the U.S., and the who9le world for that matter, and found it wanting. Hitler did not stop at the Jews as many people smugly thought he would.

Pat Buchanan > Robert Novak > Joe Sobran > David Duke

My own recommendation is to just never even go to WND. All you can do is kill brain cells there.

But that’s just my opinion.

This is not unusual for Pat. As much as I like the guy, there are times when his grasp of foreign policy is completely non-existent.

Pat could have possibly been President....
but he has always seemed to be afraid or reticent to defend America and American interests (more or less American allies. We will not vote for anybody who emits signals of being afraid or unwilling to defend this country. It only invites/encourages aggression against us, our interests and allies around the world. We need only look at what’s happening right now with the Enemy Agent in Chief not only emitting such ‘will never defend America’ signals — but actually arming our most hostile enemies with weapons of mass destruction (and paying them for the privilege).

Pat also suffers from an apparently incurable, but certainly damned consistent, anti-Semitism. Always ready to levy swipes or slurs against Jewish people, he really needs to pray (and his priest can provide him with the solid teachings of the Roman Catholic Church as regarding the sin of anti-Semitism and the value of the Jews’ continued vocation as witnesses to God and His Scriptures.

Pat Buchanan puts the horse before the cart

That’s what you are supposed to do. I think you meant to say “he put the cart before horse.”

“Patrick Buchanan is usually a great writer.”

Pretty much blew your credibility at that point.

Any enemy of the Jews is Pat's friend. He can defend any country, party, group, or person accept the Jews. And weirdly in one book, he blamed the Poles for not giving in to Hitler and the Brits for keeping their promise to follow through with their treaty to the Poles. He seems to hate the fact that people stopped Hitler, who Pat does admit was a bad man. He forgets Burke's quote.

"The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing." - Edmund Burke
