ESPN punished Schilling for telling truth about Nazis and extremist Muslims
The New York Post ^ | August 31, 2015 | Phil Mushnick

Posted on 08/31/2015 7:06:52 AM PDT by TBP

ESPN last week suspended its lead baseball analyst, Curt Schilling, not for talking games to death, but for a social-media message equating Nazis with current, extremist Muslims.

Despite their master-race genocidal crusade, the Nazis, during World War II, recruited, inducted, trained and armed at least 25,000 Balkan Muslims into an Islamic arm of the SS. Tens of thousands more eastern Muslims fought for Nazi Germany. Their mutual attraction was a shared desire to murder Jews.

After the war, “rat lines” that provided escape and sanctuary to Nazi war criminals led to safekeeping in Islamic countries, especially Egypt and Syria. And little about radical Islam, as it today festers and explodes, has changed since the rise of the Ottoman Empire in the 14th century.

So what Schilling tweeted was (a) true, (b) a vast understatement, and (c) intolerable to ESPN, so at odds with the company’s position that ESPN had no choice but to publicly censure and punish him.

Good history lesson from Mushnick, and he is 100 percent right about the state of the culture that leads to this suspension. And I believe "Iran" means "Aryan". They changed the name in the 1930s.

Sorry, ESPN. This was, in the words of Groucho Marx, "the last in a long series of straws."

The grand Mufti of Jerusalem went to Germany during the war and met with Hitler and Goebels...Shilling is right. They are still trying to kill jews...ESPN is full of crapola.

Earlier stories said that Schilling was suspended from the Little League World Series, but he was absent from Sunday Night Baseball as well. He was replaced by some woman who was there to provide the color commentary. I don’t remember her name or who she pitched for in the big leagues.

My approach to this as POTUS would be a suspension of ESPN or its related media from covering myself or the White House.

I would also check to see if any media related to ESPN or ESPN itself employed foreign nationals on H1B visas etc. and see to it that those individuals had their visas revoked and they would be deported from the USA.

They're primarily owned (I think about 80 percent) by ABC.

Thanks for the orginal tweet. I happen to think its way above 10% but considering there are something like 1.2 billion muslims even 10% would be 120 million jihadists that can cut a lot of sports network execs heads and salaries off dontcha know.
I now have a fond regard for Shilling and another disappointment in lame stream media.

Even 1 percent is a very large number. That would be 12 million.

We know whose side ESPN is on: Extremist Sociopaths Promoting Naziism.

Curt pussed out and apologized to everyone for his being insensitive. I guess he really didn’t mean it. He’s a pussy cat.

I kind of wish I had a subscription with ESPN so I could call them up and tell them why I was canceling.

Reminds me of another Groucho line. In one of their later movies (The Big Store, I believe), the newspaper says something about his character that he doesn't like.

"Which paper was that?" he asks.
"The News."
"Well, take out a subscription to the News and cancel it."

That’s the idea and I think the BBC has a news gathering relationship with ABC as well.

Disney-ABC must have foreign nationals working for them, other big corporations in media and otherwise do like Deborah Turness from the UK who is President of NBC News.

ESPN IS A JOURNALISTIC EMBARRASSMENT

ESPN – what happened to you? Your intolerant PC police are running amok and making a joke out of you!

By picking and choosing who they’ll tolerate and who they’ll try to destroy, ESPN has zero credibility as a sound and reasonable media outlet. They suspended former major league great Curt Schilling because of his tweet:

"Only 5-10% of Muslims are extremists. In 1940, only 7% of Germans were Nazis. How’d that go?"

ESPN reacted about as fast as a Schilling pitch, wimpering, "Curt’s tweet was completely unacceptable, and in no way represents our company’s perspective. We have removed him from his current assignment… pending further consideration.”

Two points – well, three, because Curt’s a pretty conservative/independent guy.

One – there’s been crude, rude bile spewing from the once-great sports network for years now. Trust me. I know. My name and reputation’s been in it. One ESPN affiliate’s on-air rant featuring their misogynist, animalistic "analysts" grunting and giggling through an entire x-rated celebration of violence against women didn’t even draw a chirp from ESPN’s wussified leaders. Look it up; I don’t want to have to recount it. ESPN radio affiliate in Las Vegas got its kicks out of convicted rapist Mike Tyson describing the next rape he’d want to see. (Warning, graphic language throughout that Sept. 20, 2011 broadcast.)

Two – Schilling’s tweet – was he wrong? No! In fact his stats were too generous in estimating Muslims’ attitudes. Reports show it’s 88% of Egyptian Muslims favoring DEATH for anyone who leaves Islam. The majority of Muslims in many other places share the sentiment. In America, these views could be correctly described as “extreme.”

The difference between Hitler’s army and the genocidal maniacs of ISIS is that the jihadists don’t have as much power… yet.

By denying the accuracy of Schilling’s tweet, ESPN shows its weakness as it buys into the propaganda of ISIS and other terror organizations, helping mislead the public about the very real threat of terrorism. It shows once again that ESPN would rather concentrate on liberal global politics instead of report well on our beloved sports.

From those of us who used to LOVE the network (to the point of addiction, some would confess!), I say to ESPN – you are awful in this. Stick to sports.
