Angry parents sending death threats on social media to their children's teachers, shocking survey reveals [ Full title ].
Parents are sending death threats to their children's teachers on social media, a shocking new survey has revealed.
Three out of four teachers in in the U.K. have said parents behavior toward them has become more obnoxious in the last five years.
The poll of 796 teachers in England and Wales also revealed that the parents of younger pupils tend to be more verbally aggressive to teachers.
And teachers have been subjected to nasty comments about their appearance, weight and sexuality as well as having their teaching ability called into question.
Teachers said parents use of social media was making the problem worse, with one teacher in Cumbria, England, saying she received late-night threats.

This may sound trite, but this is the behavior we can expect as our culture coarsens and we abandon our common Judeo-Christian roots.
Would it be unfair of me to suspect that these threats are coming as a result of the Islamization of what used to be England?
Used to be that parents and teachers (assuming no radical PC Social Justice BS agenda, real teachers I mean) were on the same side. If my parental figures got a call from the teacher, I was in deep s**t.
It’s about time they started getting threats.
Exactly! That was back in the day when the teachers were still interested in educating rather than indoctrinating.
That’s what JAILS are for
Teachers and parents have had very different goals for quite a few decades now.
That plus Chav culture, I expect.
The decrease of direct human interaction over the years enabled by an anonymous internet sure isn't helping either.
People will say things on-line or in email that they'd NEVER say directly to someone's face because they know there are few/no consequences for online behavior.
I guess the chickens are coming home to roost, as discipline and respect has been removed from schools the generations affected continue to treat teachers the same as now that they have grown up.
To a large degree that's a true statement. I think if you directly engage your children's teachers though, you get quite a different story than that echo'd by the teachers unions.
As one example, I know each and every one of my youngest son's high school teachers. I've met them all. I also knew all of my oldest son's teachers over his four years in high school. To a person each and every one of them HATES "common core" and wish it would be ended. At least that's true for the high school teachers I've met.
The Teachers Union leadership on the other hand seems to love it.
That's a very interesting observation. Looking back at all the "changes" in the public school system and the fact that kids are seemingly no longer punished for misbehaving in class for example, I think you've pretty much hit the nail on the head.
Can't expect kids to respect the educational system and authority when their parents didn't when they were growing up, and don't respect it today.
I think you're today's top post.
Well I did, then...but I certainly have no respect for the RATagandist union-thug teachers, and their army of six-figure educRAT parasites.
Posted a solution to the school problem and it got deleted very quickly. No solution exists and no one will let you suggest solutions. The entire system is corrupt and ready for a fall. Trump is at least addressing SOME issues, which is why he is so popular. Whether he can do anything about any of it remains to be seen.
It would not. Probably is muslim trash doing this.
In the late 90’s when my daughter was in HS (Florida), parents were not allowed to meet with teachers without a third party present.
Which was explainable by the number of ahole parents and the number ahole teachers that deserved a thrashing. What a combination.
This may sound trite, but this is the behavior we can expect as our culture coarsens and our children's teachers abandon our common Judeo-Christian roots.
Righteous indignation isn't reliant on coarsened culture.
Some of the things they've shoving off on our kids are flat our wrong. Homosexuality...?
I tend to watch my language on e-mails, but I also tend to be very specific in my language. I consider I highly critical e-mail to be a business document and correspondence that could be used in court. Against me if I use profanity and threats, for me if I keep it businesslike but firm. Typically it is
Fact
Fact
Fact
What is being done to resolve this?
Why has this not been resolved?
When will this be resolved?
Will this need to be escalated to the next level (as in legal action)?
Etc.
Yet in some places this kind of format is considered violent and threatening.
In most cases school administrators will Delphi you. You are the only person who made such a complaint, therefore you are the problem. Yet you know quite well that many others have the same or similar complaints.
