CNN anchors on Wednesday night hit two Republican presidential candidates on the subject of gun control, wondering if yesterday's horrific shooting in Roanoke, Virginia has prompted them to rethink their positions. Talking to Ben Carson, Don Lemon demanded, "After you watch a crime like this, does it make you question at all the role of guns in our society?"
Carson reminded, "The Second Amendment of that Constitution gives citizens the right to keep and bare arms. Therefore, anything that we're going to do has to be done with respect to the Second Amendment."
The Republican mentioned the opportunity to do harm with knives and bats. CNN Tonight's Lemon reiterated, "...Having a gun offers people a unique opportunity and advantage to kill multiple at a time, to do injury that may be far greater than any of those other instruments that you mentioned."

Or the sheriff in Milwaukee. He might set don lemmons straight. I’m not saying he’s gay, I meant on the gun thing. But, as with all these assclowns, there is NO arguing with them. They’re right and you’re wrong. Because they said so.
Back in the day, I had “guns” but now they’re more like saggy balloons. LOL! Well, not that saggy.
The 2nd Amendment does no such thing. It "gives" nothing. It prohibits the gov't from restricting our pre-existing right to keep and bear arms, which in turn flows from our pre-existing right to self-defense, which further derives from our inalienable right to life. Carson still does not fully understand that rights are not conferred by governments or documents.
Second Amendment? What Second Amendment?
When attacked on gun rights, candidates always fail to state that guns more often offer a means to avoid, mitigate, or completely stop violent attack. Those self defense uses are being reported more in the media, but aren’t as dramatic and sensational as highly profiled murders which make the headlines.
Unless you happen to live in a city, right, Doc?
And what's this, "anything we're going to do" business? How many firearms-related laws are on the books now? Thousands? And how's that turned out for us?
Guns and gay marriage are very good issues for conservatives to reach out to blacks on. Rick Ector spoke at a Detroit GOP event the other day about the 2nd amendment and the racist (democrat) roots of gun control.

It is clear that the Dem Socialists have made human rights removal (self-defense removal) a core goal for the upcoming months. Any event will be used to beat this issue over peoples’ heads. Of course, killings by Dem Socialists and by illegals will be hidden from view.
Racist, mentally-ill individual attacks personnel of former employer in deluded hate attack. The Dem Socialists immediately blame the gun and go after normal, good citizens’ freedoms.
It is a technique so ridiculous it can’t work but apparently the propaganda machine of the Dem Socialist Party is going to repeat this for every event they can. They think the defenders of freedom are weak and ignorant. They think they must achieve this important goal for BO before his term ends and achieve the most socialist goals of any time since LBJ. They see this, healthcare control, and achieving a one-party state, as the great socialist triumph of the age and possibly a final spike in the heart of America.
Don’t let them get an inch closer to their goal.
The best way to avoid massive amounts of gun violence, Mr. Lemon, is to not even think about coming to get ours.
And he likely never will because that's cultural, not intellectual. Perhaps a good Surgeon General but otherwise, he's out of his depth.
Yes, sadly among the members of the gang of 17 (or whatever the number is today) there are but a scant few who understand the diff between inalienable rights and powers. The two at the top do not, AFAIK. All the more reason to work hard for any Constitutional Conservatives in the race.
Looks like another round of training for Doc Carson. He may be a brilliant brain surgeon but he is way off on this and probably a lot of other constitutional aspects.
In the past few months we have had 2 examples of the failure of Gun control.
The poor young lady murdered in San Francisco by a Non-American. He couldn’t legally own a gun but managed to have one any way.
The Train Attack in France that was stopped by the 3 Americans. Europe has the kind of Gun control that Liberals dream of, but it didn’t stop the terrorist from getting plenty of guns and ammo.
Also notice how the Police are never around? They simply can’t be everywhere and cannot protect you.

The best way to answer a question like this would be to propose that the media put its house in order. It is clear that many of these sort of shootings are a result of the “copycat effect”. The media knows this, and when you propose that the stop glorifying the perpetrator and making them into anti-heros, they shut right up.
The media is far more of the problem than guns.

The second amendment of the Constitution gives the government the responsibility to protect the God-given right of the people to keep and bear arms. Ben is a slow learner.
He’s definitely getting tougher. He may not be ready for the big desk but his training is coming along nicely.
