An Oakland police officer shot and killed a man Thursday after he hit her in the head multiple times with a metal chain in the city’s Adams Point neighborhood, officials and witnesses said.
The deadly encounter marked the sixth police shooting this year in Oakland — four of which have been fatal, during an unusually violent summer of clashes between officers and armed suspects.

Lived a crossed Mac Arthur from the scene of the crime after WWII. It was all white then. Now it’s pretty much all Black. I will be waiting to see who it was who was shot.

Beyond once, what exactly is the number of times a criminal is permitted use a chain to hit an Oakland police officer with “repeated blows about her head and face” before the officer is allowed to take out the garbage?

I was there today...near the Grand Lake Theater. I wondered what the heck was going on across the way. All I can say is “Thank God we have dedicated police officers like that brave woman.” Oakland really has a lot of wonderful people. We also have a lot of weirdness.

When I first read it, I thought you said "common sense chain saws" We probably need those too. 😆 Was it a white dude that got killed? I assume if he was of some other racial background, it would have been plastered all over the news.

It doesn’t matter who was killed, as the beating victim was a female. The perp’s race is irrelevant at that point - no story.

The perp’s race matters, in that, if he was a white guy, there will not be a riot. Other than that, I agree with you, it doesn’t matter. He was assaulting a cop, and he got what he deserved.
