When you expect to just be handed the nomination from the Powers That Be, there's no need to study up on history!

From the article:

For Jeb Bush not to understand this – particularly when his own grandfather was not only a friend and ally of Dwight Eisenhower but a sitting U.S. Senator who apparently went along with his friend Ike’s mass deportation – is an amazing blind spot for a potential president.

For Bill O’Reilly to either ignore or not know about Eisenhower’s Trump-style deportation is amazing.

But whether Jeb and O’Reilly know about Ike’s “Operation Wetback” or not, the fact of the matter is that it happened. The fact is that what Donald Trump is suggesting was in fact done by Dwight Eisenhower. It was a big deal. A Very Big Deal. And history records that it worked.

Lord: "How can a serious presidential candidate and a major cable television host be so repeatedly ignorant of such a significant moment in American history?"

Uhmm....
A: "Because, like a good Rino/Liberal-lite, they're not interested in truth and would like to conveniently change history?"
B: "Because, like a good Rino/Liberal-lite, it doesn't fit their Socialist/Communist agenda?"
C: "Because, like a good Rino/Liberal-lite, they can't handle the truth?"
D: "Etc..."

Ike’s way of handling illegals was the way Ike handled problems. He put good people in charge, and they came up with a workable plan, and it worked.

Most freepers haven’t heard of his plan and many make fun of it because of their personal biases.

Read how Ike handled the illegal problem as president. It worked then and will work even better with today’s tools:

The same people that are running Bush and BOR have an agenda - and deporting millions of illegals isn’t part of it.

BO is a self-aggrandizing blowhard bore who is past his prime. Can’t stand to watch him. FOX really has to get some new talent.

We don’t have to deport a single one - just stop employing them and stop giving them welfare.

The mechanism is already in place to handle this, it’s called “E-Verify,” and most if not all major U.S. corporations already use it to determine immigration status.

I promise you, when they can’t work here, they leave.

Neither Jeb or O'Reilly could confidently answer the question of whether they are smarter than a fifth grader. O'Reilly's major aptitude is in being a self-promoter, in the most tacky sense.

Jeb comes from a fairly distinguished New England family.

Neither ought to be considered for the Presidency, or as a pundit on immigration, or ethnology. I do believe that Jeb loves his family--but that is not a qualification for the Presidency.

That Ike was something else, very political, but not a Party Man by any measure.

Ike and The Donald have several things in common, such as decisiveness. Once their minds are made up they marshal the resources to get it done. Both have very realistic no nonsense outlooks and both can effectively learn from their mistakes.

It doesn't matter if Eisenhower, the Father, Son or the Holy Spirit did something in the past, O'Reilly wouldn't care a whit....he's only interested in what he, Saint Bloviatus, did, does or would do.

Every time some RINO whines “We can’t deport 12 million people”, I always wonder why the hell not? It doesn’t have to be done in a day; once we build a working fence, we have years to weed out the illegals.

So now we understand why the 60s & 70s had the largest increase of middle class American citizens in history. Proof that Americans will work when given the opportunity.

On Bor’s show this week he claimed he couldn’t find any constitutional legal scholar who supported the intent of the 14th amendment. Thats a lie because Mark Levin had one on his show.

Bor is pro-amnesty.

Check with Sheriff Joe, he tells too, that under Pres. Nixon, he was directed Sheriff Joe to stop drugs coming through the Southern Border - and Mexico worked with him to shut down the flow of drugs passing through the border, where most all drugs passed!

I fail to see why or how Operation Wetback would be known by either of theses 2 fools, For O’Reilly it would have to contain something on Sexually Harassing your Employees for him to be interested. Jeb, Well it wasn’t in his crayon books or part of the Bribe package from Lehman.

They're talking about what is politically, administratively, and legally practical today. That differs from what was possible in the 1950s.

Just as, for example, how the way the courts interpret the 14th Amendment now is different from what those who wrote the amendment probably intended. The current interpretation may be wrong, but that doesn't mean it's going to change anytime soon.

Times change and what's possible changes. Roosevelt was able to get away with a lot of stuff in the 1940s that wouldn't fly today -- and shouldn't. People who address the current situation aren't ignorant of what happened in the past. They just aren't focused on what was possible decades ago.

Jeffrey Lord doesn't come across well in this article. The New York Times endorsed large scale deportations in the 1950s? Like they'd do that now?
