Congressman Jim Bridenstine to Co-Chair Cruz military coalition |
I am humbled and proud to have Bob, Jim, Brian, and Bill leading the Vets for Ted military coalition, Sen. Cruz said. Each of these men has bravely served our country and put their lives on the line to defend the liberties we enjoy today. Their support is an honor. I am committed to ensuring our military forces are provided the resources they need to protect our homeland and promote America’s interests across the globe–and to making sure we fulfill our obligations to our veterans and their families when they return home.
Connor said that, This is a task I do not take lightly. Sen. Cruz has a proven record showing that he understands the criticality of shoring up and rebuilding our defenses, from securing our borders to providing for the needs of our deployed and stateside troops and their families. As president, he will protect veterans and enhance the necessary trust between our men and women in uniform and their Commander-in-Chief.

Sen. Bob Smith, who also serves as co-chair of Sen. Cruzs New Hampshire leadership team, enlisted in United States Naval Reserve during the Cuban Missile Crisis in 1962. He served two years of active duty with the United States Navy (1965-1967), which included one year of active duty in the Vietnam conflict aboard the U.S.S. Navasota. He afterwards served five additional years in the U.S. Naval Reserve. Smith represented the state of New Hampshire in the U. S. House of Representatives for six years (1985-1990) and the U. S. Senate for 12 years (1990-2003).
Congressman Jim Bridenstine is a decorated Navy pilot and flew combat missions off the USS Abraham Lincoln in Operation Enduring Freedom in Afghanistan, Operation Southern Watch in Iraq, and Operation Shock and Awe in Iraq. Later, he transitioned to the F-18 Hornet fighter at the Naval Strike and Air Warfare Center, the parent command to TOPGUN, where he flew Red Air and was also an instructor. He is currently a Lieutenant Commander in the U.S. Navy Reserve where he has flown the E-2C Hawkeye, a surveillance and operations command aircraft, in Central and South America in support of Americas war on drugs. Following 39 operations, months of hospitalization and numerous skin grafts, Birdwell made a miraculous recovery, was awarded the Purple Heart and the Legion of Merit, and went on to win special election to the Texas Senate in 2010 where he has twice been re-elected and he serves today.
Bill Connor is a decorated U.S. Army combat Infantry officer (Airborne Ranger) and served as senior U.S. military advisor in Helmand Province, Afghanistan. As national director of the Cruz for President military coalition, Connor will advise and direct the efforts to build-upon the already growing support for Cruz among military veterans and veteran-support organizations nationwide.
This is a task I do not take lightly, says Connor.
In before the naysayers.
This Vet is for Ted!
I see that he’s picked another campaign team for NH today as well.
Let the naysayers eat Twinkies.....that’ll fix em!
I like Ted Cruz. He’s got a solid record.
Hopefully his numbers will rise steadily over time.
Also another big endorsment.

Good news, but getting harder and harder to stay out here. Many (not all, but a damn lot of of) of the Trump thumpers are just unbearable. They act like the Ron Paul crowd in both behavior and their personal attacks and when faced with logic and facts that go against their idol worship they resort to personal attacks.
I had high hopes for 2016 but people always find a way to kill it.
Ted Cruz is laying a solid foundation for a great grass roots organization. No one is doing that better in the GOP field.
Its easy to declare a race over 5 months out before the first actual vote is taken.
Thanks for the link, Isara.
Yes, but easier when the candidates that are supposed to have some b@lls let this charade go on.
Cruz has always said exposing the “truth” is not attacking a candidate. It’s time he and some of these other guys start digging into the Trump contradictory statements. Until they do that (and it has to be them), I don’t see anything changing.
Talk about Ted and his ideas. Don’t worry about other candidates. Praise good ideas, criticize bad ideas, but don’t make it about the other candidate. That is the essence of Reagan’s 11th Commandment and the ideal Ted Cruz is sticking to.
16 of the 17 candidates will be gone by next summer. We need as few bruised egos as possible at that time. You aren’t going to get many people working hard for Cruz if they felt their guy was unfairly attacked in the race.
So it looks another bunch of politicians that have no intention of cutting all the waste out of our bloated military budget.
I am up for that.
I wouldn’t want Trump out at this point. He’s destroying the gope, and not harming Cruz.
As for attacking Trump, all of them are waiting for the other guy to do the dirty work. Recently, they tried to goad Cruz— but he’s not going to do it. It’s the establishment that’s losing big time, Cruz is sitting back because he knows Jeb/Walker/Rubio have to confront Trump, or they’re gone. In the end, the establishment guys will agree to attack him en masse.
Ted has until the March 1 primaries— he just has to stay competitive until then. At that time, Ted will go after Donald, if need be.
I’m not trying to be a wiseguy, but Cruz one on one with Trump, that’s not a contest. Trump is a salesman, pure ego, he wants to talk about himself. Ted is a top flight attorney, he will slice and dice any “big mouth” on the stand. I’m not joking— this is what Cruz is trained to do.
Myself, I’m happy with the way things are going.
you have a much bigger tolerance level for the Trump “crowd” here than I do. Some of these people are just flat out nuts and don’t have a clue what conservatism means. On top of that, they excuse every valid point made about Trump’s past conflicting statements on every issue, while attacking Cruz for the exact same thing.
I feel like we have been cheated. Cruz was poised to take the fight to Jebbers and Trump stole it from him. Once again, we can’t have a primary where conservative ideals are put at the front of the debate. It’s taken a backseat to reality TV and a charlatan.
