Fiorina: Trump Is Acting Like Other Politicians He Criticizes [VIDEO]

Carly Fiorina criticized Donald Trump’s plan to eliminate birth right citizenship, saying, “I do not support amending the Constitution and frankly in this regard honestly, I think Donald Trump is acting like the politicians he excoriates.”

“Let’s hold a bright, shiny object out here, let’s amend the Constitution and end birth right citizenship. It is not going to happen,” Fiorina, appearing on “Morning Joe” Wednesday, continued.

Mike Barnicle: Do you believe in birth right citizenship?

Carly Fiorina: I think it is in our Constitution. I do not support amending the Constitution and frankly in this regard honestly, I think Donald Trump is acting like the politicians he excoriates. Let’s hold a bright, shiny object out here, let’s amend the Constitution and end birth right citizenship. It is not going to happen. Whether people are for it or not, it’s not going to happen. The reason I say it’s a distraction, is because what I will do is expend all of my political capital and political energy on doing the one thing we haven’t done for 25 years. Let’s secure the border, let’s fix the legal immigration system which is such a huge part of the reason we have so many illegal immigrants. Talk, talk, talk. It’s all anybody has been doing for 25 years. We need to buckle down and get this stuff done. It’s not rocket science.

Mika Brzezinski: Carly Fiorina. Great to have you on the show.

Joe Scarborough: Carly Fiorina, doing something radical, coming out in support of the 14th Amendment, which a lot of Republicans, people in my party are not doing.

Generally speaking, Trump is in no way acting like the other politicians.

Thanks for the opinion, Carly.

When it is voting time, I’ll definitely keep that in mind.

Arrogant bitch. 61% of the American people want to end birthright citizenship. You don't necessarily have to amend the Constitution to end it. The first thing is to pass a law in Congress ending it and then see what happens with the legal challenges. There are good legal and Constitutional reasons why the law will be sustained by the courts.

The idea that it doesn't matter what the people want is is why the political elites in this country are hated. They no longer represnt the people.

Fiorina will make herself irrelevant and then ask “WHY?”

No. There is some reptile in her DNA. Her hypocrisies are rather crass and sickening as well. She is just a construct with marching orders from someone with more substance.

Trump actually does remind me of another politician. His name was Arnold. He lives here in the People’s Republic of CA. One year, in a stunning and unprecedented recall election, he defeated a sitting Democrat governor.

Arnold has much in common with DT. A nominal Republican (like DT) he had little attachment in with state GOP hierarchy and (like DT) had no track record we could measure before he ran for governor. Like DT, Arnold ran as a conservative but governed as a RINO. Like DT, Arnold had near universal name recognition and unlimited personal resources. Like DT, Arnold appealed a lot to unaffiliated and independent and usually turned off voters who rarely vote and normally have little interest in politics.

Unlike DT, Arnold was born to a modest family in a foreign country. Arnold came over to the US as an immigrant and became very successful first in body building then later as one of the highest paid actors in Hollywood and a successful businessman owning restaurants and other enterprises. Arnold also married up-—into the Kennedy family no less-—the first red flag as far as I was concerned.

But I personally never shared in the state’s initial enthusiasm for Arnold. Many people here were enthusiastic that Arnold had never run for public office before, spoke his mind, and had no close attachments to the state GOP. All were considered big pluses by many by many voters. But not me. I stuck with the tried and true and cast by vote for Congressman Tom McClintock in the recall election. And after nearly eight years of Arnold as governor, I never had any regrets.

DT and Arnold have a lot in common. I’ve seen this rodeo before. DT like Arnold is populist with wide appeal and near universal name ID. But also like Arnold, he is not a movement conservative, and many conservatives will be disappointed. Also, as with the case of Arnold, DT actually is part of the establishment, so many will be ultimately disappointed should he have the chance to govern.
