GOP presidential hopeful Jeb Bush's clarification of his usage of the term, "anchor baby" did not go over well with Asian Americans, who took to Twitter Monday evening in response to the former Florida governor's latest remarks.
Bush, conflating the current debate over undocumented immigration with maternity tourism, effectively shifted the focus surrounding the use of the controversial term "anchor babies," from Hispanics to Asians.
"What I was talking about was the specific case of fraud being committed, where there's organized efforts -- and frankly it's more related to Asian people coming into our country -- having children in that organized effort, taking advantage of a noble concept, which is birthright citizenship," Bush said Monday in McAllen, Texas.
Asian Americans, the fastest-growing racial group in the country, were quick to respond on social media.
A 2014 study found that Asian Americans were the least likely of all groups to be contacted by political parties, despite the population's growing political clout. Bush's comments drew criticism that he would further alienate an already-marginalized community before next year's election, as well accusations that Bush was attempting to placate one minority group at the expense of another.

So solly! Get over it. Most white middle aged Americans are insulted to outrage 20 times daily. If we can get over it , so can you.

Asian anchor babies ARE a big problem.
It is a HUGE business (racket) here in Southern CA.
Many affluent Chinese women are coming to the US for the specific purpose of having their baby on US soil.

That’s a practical suggestion.

And then they go home. They do not expect our government to pay their hospital bills nor do the collect food stamps , housing or other hands out. They return home

How did we get here, when the fourteenth amendment never had this intent?

Methinks that Mister Jeb has firmly affixed an anchor around his candidacy.
(Not that he had a chance, mind you; his pro-amnesty for illegal aliens policies saw to an assured loss among Conservatives.)

That is true in many cases.
But they are gaming the system nonetheless.
Why don’t they have their babies in China?
To: Dr. Ursus
The 14th Amendment is being manipulated by liberals as grab bag to justify anything under the sun including abortion, same sex marriage, and illegal immigration. They are twisting the intent of this Amendment just like they do with everything else in the Constitution.

The Asians he is referring to are some that pay big buck to get a visitor’s visa, pay for accommodations, pay the medical bills, then go home. They hope citizenship makes it easier for the kid get into a good college here.
I’m not saying it’s right, but at least they are paying for everything and not making taxpayers foot the bill for everything from the delivery through life for the kid and family. So Jeb wants to go after them of course.

So, pregnant Asians sneaking across the border to give birth are bad, but Mexicans sneaking across the border to give birth are good.
==
Bush's latest explanation of his use of 'anchor babies' is as convoluted as this previous one:
If theres abuse, if people are bringing pregnant women are coming in to have babies simply because they can do it, then there ought to be greater enforcement, Bush said on Bill Bennetts conservative radio show, Morning in America Wednesday. Thats [the] legitimate side of this. Better enforcement so that you dont have these, you know, anchor babies, as theyre described, coming into the country.
A week later and Bush still hasn't found the right words to say. He is starting to resemble Bumbling Biden.

And their babies are US citizens. Isn’t that the real reason?

Jeb is seriously bad at this politics game. I knew he wasn’t the wiz that he had been made out to be. His FL runs for governor were unremarkable and I doubt he would have gone anywhere there if not for the Bush brand which still carried some cach$eacute; then. Now the brand is electoral poison and he doesn’t have the wit or polish to overcome it.
