No, the nominee IS NOT going to have to make peace with them.

Please explain that reasoning.

This is situation where the GOPe is going to have to tolerate the nominee the voting public chooses.

The nominee goes on to the election. The GOPe tags along saying yes sir no sir.

If Trump gets the nomination, he will own the GOP. It may look a lot different once he gets done with it.

I can’t believe Prince Reibus is STILL the RNC chairman after failing so badly. He is worse than Michael “get jiggy wit it” Steele and he still has his job. I don’t get it.

Well, sort of like Hitler thought Ernst Rohm was a ‘net positive’ for the NSDAP..

Right before a certain set of kitchen cutlery was brought out.

Would you settle for 500 shares of slightly worthless stock instead? I’m kinda short on funds after today.

No thanks, I already have $20k worth of worthless Lehman Bros. “Preferred”, thanks to Morgan Stanley.

You mean some of them may jump out of office windows? I can hardly wait!

The reason is simply that they’re called ‘the establishment’ for a reason.

The nominee will need their support- to ‘some’ extent- to bring along the Party members who did not want that nominee. “A house divided” and so forth. They can cause tremendous fifth column problems. Many donors may defect to the other side- the opposition needs to be denied that funding.
Lots of reasons.

The GOPe has adamantly insisted on their own way so far.

We wouldn’t have Reibus Prince had it not been for Haley Barbour.

This is bigger than the GOPe. They control nothing from this point forward. If they did, Trump could not win. He is going to win.

As for the House and Congress, they will fall in line behind Trump, because if they do not, they will be voted out in primaries across the nation.

Trump has the will of the people behind him, and he has shown how much power that will represents.

All he has to do is express his dissatisfaction with the folks on capital hill, and they’re gone in less than two years.

The people want things cleaned up. Trump is the guy. You and I may not like it, but the powers that be fiddled for far too long for the public to listen to them now.

Priebus could have been a force for good. As we watched McGoner and Bonnie comply with Obama, that became less and less possible.

Now there’s Trump. It’s simply too late for the GOPe to have any say whatsoever.

They wouldn’t listen to us. Could have had a lock on power for a century if they simply would have.

People generally love this nation, even non-U. S. Citizens who wish to flock to the promised land.

The days of destruction from within are coming to an end.

Sad to say.

No, this is a talking point. Peter King just issued the same “net positive” spiel. What are they up to? Trying to kill him with kindness? It won’t work.

I don’t dismiss your points but I think Trump and Cruz are not stupid enough to engage in a two-front war.
Of course if the GOPe won’t eventually compromise at all there’s no choice.

Over time I’ve had to accept something like this was going on.

It does worry me that Trump has recently said he has talked to Priebus, and he’s a nice guy, we get along well.

Alarm bells going off everywhere...

Trump says he’s a great negotiator. Hopefully he sees the Leftist Republicans for who they are.

Is this what happened with Reagan? If so; they GOPe still won. They managed to foist GHWB on him as his VP. If memory serves; GHWB went on to squander the legacy given to him by Reagan.

I don’t think Trump should declare war on the GOPe. I’m not seeking to infer that. I’m just saying he doesn’t need to pander to them, or capitulate to them.

Give them a great big smile as you walk past them on your way down the road to fixing things.

If they try to play the Party Card, simply tell them they had their chance for decades. “Love you guys, but no thanks.”

Jean, I believe it is. I believe they conned him into thinking he couldn’t win without Bush. Yes GHWB did go on to squander Reagan’s legacy.

Bush to this day says he learned so much from Reagan. Not buying it. Never did.

Bush wasn’t the idiot his sons are, but he didn’t get Conservatism either. His “One World Order” comment sure doesn’t back my over view of him though. That was just pure grade A ignorance. You don’t tip your land like that.

Glad that he did.
