Reince Priebus: Trump a ‘Net Positive’ for Republican Party
Breitbart ^ | 24 Aug 2015 | Josh Feldman

RNC Chairman Reince Priebus appeared on Wisconsin television last weekend saying he believes Donald Trump to be a “net positive” for the Republican party.

Priebus’ relationship with Trump has been an interesting one so far, starting with the call between the two men in which Priebus reportedly asked Trump to “soften his tone.” Publicly, though, Priebus hasn’t really criticized Trump and has even expressed his certainty that Trump won’t run as a third-party candidate. Priebus told Mike Gousha this past weekend that Trump is “a positive for our party” because of the eyeballs he draws to the whole field. He didn’t exactly go out of his way to praise Trump specifically, but just said that he’s channelling the frustration with Washington lots of voters have.

Don’t believe it for a moment.

What’s the best thing to do if you can’t beat a guy?

You do your best to turn him. Make him your man.

The GOPe will tell Trump they agree with him. Then they’ll explain why it’s best he does things their way. Because of this, this, and this...

Even if he only buys in part-way, they won’t get skunked.

The GOPe IS THE ENEMY.

Period.

You don’t wind up with Bonnie, McGoner, McCain, Romney, et al, when the GOPe is on your side.

Priebus is evil incarnate. I’m sorry to have to look at it that way, but there is no other explanation having witnessed what we have.

“Slowly they are beginning to see the light...”

They’re just hoping to save their careers and avoid irrelevancy.

I never understood why these GOPe types attacked Trump so much. By doing so, they gave him an unprecedented level of publicity. Just as importantly, they gave him an opportunity respond the attacks, and he knocked it out the park.

If everyone had ignored Trump’s “controversial” remarks, he might well still be in the single digits with most people not even know about his immigration policies.

Trump bringing eyeballs to the Republicans is a plus, but only if Priebus&Co would hide some of the things we don’t want those eyeballs to see.

GOPe Charlie Black was on Meet-the-Press. Chuck Todd didn’t need to play gotcha. Charlie Black was the worst ad for the GOP so far this election season. I was embarassed to be thought of as in the same party as such an arrogant fool.

If I ask extra nice, Mr. Trump, will you tone it down? Please, the elite RINO gang is very upset with me.

The GOPe IS the enemy, and the nominee IS going to have to make peace with them.
Preferably by accepting their unconditional surrender, but we may get somewhat less than that.

I don’t trust Reince (or any of them). He’s just faking to gain a little more time to sharpen the knife for future backstabbing.
