I don’t follow the science fiction world. But I thought I heard some author was under attack for opposing homosexual marriage. Is this story part of that, that some people don’t want to honor someone’s work because of his social/political views not being liberal?????

Political correctness starting to corrupt Sci-fi, with some left-wing garbage winning awards.

Normally apathetic Sci-fi geeks got angry that bad writing was promoted, and were labeled reactionary for wanting “white male chauvinistic adventurers” as the only protagonists.

Just like the so-called “Gamergate” feud, PC-ness has gotten to the point of festering in pop culture that now normally apathetic people are upset.

You’re probably thinking of Orson Scott Card who wrote Enders Game and it’s follow-ons. He was targeted for personal destruction by the SJB’s (B is for Bullies, as suggested by John Ringo) solely because he opposes same sex marriage. Including an organized boycott of the Enders Game movie.

Although not directly involved with the whole Sad Puppies campaign, it is very much related as an example of increasingly militant intolerance by the Progressive Left. One of many.

Back on thread; keep in mind that the goal of Sad Puppies wasn’t to win awards, but use the awards process to expose the Progressives for the fascists they are. It’s been an overwhelming success: even a major Socialist like Eric “The Red” Flint (Baen author and editor, originator of the 1632 series) has called out his ideological fellow travellers for their behavior.
