WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Republican Donald Trump is pulling away from the pack in the race for the party's U.S. presidential nomination, widening his lead over his closest rivals in the past week, a Reuters/Ipsos poll showed on Friday.
Republican voters show no signs they are growing weary of the brash real estate mogul, who has dominated political headlines and the 17-strong Republican presidential field with his tough talk about immigration and insults directed at his political rivals. The candidates are vying to be nominated to represent their party in the November 2016 general election.
Nearly 32 percent of Republicans surveyed online said they backed Trump, up from 24 percent a week earlier, the opinion poll found. Trump had nearly double the support of his closest competitor, former Florida Governor Jeb Bush, who got 16 percent. Retired neurosurgeon Ben Carson was third at 8 percent. Even when Trump was pitted directly in the poll against just his top two competitors, 44 percent backed him. Bush won about 29 percent of respondents, and Carson 25 percent.

I figured that Trump’s THOUGHTFUL plan for addressing immigration (all kinds) would win him a plus-10. Looks like a plus-8. Close enough...the rest of the pack can barely make it to the surface to breathe.
Got a link?
Went there and couldn’t find it, maybe they’re out.
“Nearly 32 percent of Republicans surveyed online said they backed Trump, up from 24 percent a week earlier.”
Yeah, as predicted by the presstitutes, Trump’s “hardline” position on immigration is killing him.
Of course, they also said he had reached his ceiling when he was in the low 20s.
And Frank Luntz the Duntz said on the evening of the Fox debate that Trump was finished as of that point.
What would we do without these experts?
“And Frank Luntz the Duntz said on the evening of the Fox debate that Trump was finished as of that point.”
Well Luntz has really changed his tune! He was on one of the FNC shows last night singing Trump’s praises. Said he was amazed at Trump’s communication skills, and he played three of his ads with the REP/DEM response overlay to prove his assertion.
I simply cannot believe how leftward Fox has gone. O’Reilly is unrecognizable. With the exception of Hannity the rest could be on CNN.
They got ‘em on Amazon for 9 bucks, no shipping...
It was a yahoo news story...I don’t know how to post it on Free Republic.
Drudge may have link?

OReally, who not too long ago was at the pinnacle on FNC, ratings-wise; has made himself a joke and a political hack for the GOPe. I never actually WATCH it any more. I surf past it occasionally just to see what inanity he’s spouting now; like his crusade to save the illegal anchor babies.
What happens to guys like him and Krauthammer, and even Stephen Hayes, who I used to think was bullet proof, and upon whom my wife had a crush.....he’s so handsome, you know? What makes their brains turn to crap? Anyhow, the crush is gone. Hayes is just another GOPe disappointment.
Cruz is also my 1st choice but thought Trump was impressive tonight and specific enough. Explained why we made bad deals (C Kennedy) and was very specific on how he would do it. (Carl Icon to deal with China, Japan)
Good! Go Trump!
No more corrupt money hungry career politicians that are owned by rich donors.
Trump doesn’t need more money so isn’t corrupted by it. The top 3 others running against Trump have around $100 million in donations each from rich donors already.
So they are giving this kind of money some $10 million dollar single donations and they don’t expect something in return? get a clue
Most of these rich donors are for amnesty. That’s another clue
Be aware that the $9.00 caps on Amazon.com are made in Cambodia and are not embroidered like the genuine “Make America Great Again” cap that Trump wears and are screen printed instead.
They do have the genuine caps on Amazon as well but they are $22.99 and I believe shipping is extra.
Might as well buy them direct from Trump’s campaign site for $25.00 although IDK if that includes shipping, but at least the money will be going to the Trump campaign.
Thanks. I ordered a red one on eBay for eight dollars
